A Study On Chinese Three-syllable New Appellations

Appellation plays an important role in interpersonal communication.There has been appellation culture in China since ancient times,and there is a very large and mature appellation system in modern Chinese,most of which are in the form of two-syllable.Nowadays,the new appellations are constantly derived,showing the obvious characteristics of three-syllabic in the form of syllables.This characteristic is closely related to the refined expression of new appellations to reference objects.New appellations are not only used to express the social relations between people,but also carry more semantic content.With the complexity,diversification and individuation of referent objects,two-syllable appellations are difficult to meet the needs of refined expression.Therefore,increasing the number of syllables can enrich the concept connotation and reduce the concept denotation,so as to highlight the personalized characteristics of referent objects and become a tendency selection method.Since entering the new period,a large number of new three-syllable appellations have emerged in Chinese,occupying the dominant syllable position of new appellations,showing the new characteristics of the development of appellations.This characteristic reflects the change of interpersonal relationship,reflects the transformation of cognitive mode,and is the deconstruction of traditional appellation culture.Therefore,the study of three-syllable new appellations has important linguistic and sociological value.This thesis focuses on the corpus range of 585 new three-syllable appellations produced from 2010 to 2020.The thesis is mainly divided into five parts.The first part is the "introduction",which mainly clarifies the reason of the topic selection,defines the research object,analyzes the research status,selects research methods,introduces the research significance and explains the source of corpus.The second part is "structure analysis of three-syllable new appellations",combining statistical data to analyze the characteristics of three-syllable new appellations’ composition,grammatical structure and prosodic structure.The third part is "semantic analysis of three-syllable new appellations",which makes a detailed analysis and description of its semantic generation mode,semantic type,semantic transparency,color meaning and semantic relations.The fourth part is "the causes of the emergence of three-syllable new appellations",which analyzes the external causes from the social point of view,the causes of trisyllabization from the internal point of view of language,and the psychological and cognitive causes from the perspective of human subjects.The fifth part is "the dynamic development of three-syllable new appellations",mainly investigating their generative status,the change of latent state and the principle of dynamic norms in the dynamic development.The conclusion summarizes the whole thesis,and points out the innovation and shortcomings of this thesis.
