| The new curriculum reform requires teachers to develop a new view on teaching.Classroom teaching has shifted from attaching importance to teaching to students’ learning.To build a classroom full of vitality,the role of students has changed from passive learners to independent participants.The traditional teaching mode of junior English writing should be changed in order to adapt to the new curriculum reform.Example teaching model refers to the selection of representative,basic and typical writing examples in writing teaching.Through learning these examples,students can master the rules of English writing,cultivate their abilities to find,analyze and solve problems,promote their autonomous learning ability and learning enthusiasm,and improve their interest in English writing,strategies and writing scores.This paper takes two classes of Grade Two in Dalian No.34 Middle School as the research subjects.A 16-week English writing teaching experiment was conducted.In the experimental class,the example teaching model is used to teach English writing,while in the control class,the traditional teaching model is still adopted.The tools used are questionnaires,pre-test and post-test,interview,data analysis.The results show that the students’ interest in English writing,writing strategies and writing scores in the experimental class have been improved.The teaching of English writing in junior high school under the model of example teaching has a positive impact on students.They begin to explore the methods and general rules of English writing actively.Junior high school teachers should change the traditional English writing teaching model of mechanical recitation,and use the example teaching model in their English writing teaching to improve the students’ initiative in English writing. |
