Research On The Media Presentation Of Suicide Phenomenon During The Anti-Japanese War In Ta Kung Pao

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,various social contradictions were intensified,and the phenomenon of suicide,as an extreme social problem,aroused widespread concern and discussion in the world.This article takes the suicide news of Ta Kung Pao during the Anti-Japanese War as the research object,and explores the present situation of suicide phenomenon and the reasons for the change of the media’s position in the complex social environment,in order to analyze the social responsibility of the media in the suicide report.This paper adopts text analysis and comparative analysis methods for the suicide reports during the partial anti-Japanese war and the comprehensive anti-Japanese war.By studying the suicide news reports in Ta Kung Pao,as well as articles such as comments and supplements during the anti-Japanese war,it analyzes the changes in content and attitude,and clarifies the partial anti-Japanese war and the comprehensive anti-Japanese war.The reporting tendencies and public opinion attitudes during the Anti-Japanese War,through the Ta Kung Pao,were intended to explore the relationship between newspapers and the society and the nation under different backgrounds,as well as the role of the media in times of national crisis and national peril.The first chapter of this paper is the introduction part;the second and third chapters,mainly through the analysis and research of the "Ta Kung Pao" text data,the two periods of the partial war of resistance and the comprehensive war of resistance.Comparison,analyzes from three aspects: the characteristics of reports,the image construction of suicide,the government and social groups,and the attitude of Ta Kung Pao towards suicide,and researches why the media’s attitude towards suicide has changed from negative to positive;chapter four,based on the first two Chapter "Ta Kung Pao" on the media presentation of suicide phenomenon,summed up the changes in suicide reporting topics,attitudes and reporting methods,and then proceeded from the war situation,the government’s media control and the "Ta Kung Pao’s " concept of running a newspaper to analyze the reasons for the change.And then explore the relationship between newspapers and society in the context of wartime and national salvation.All in all,suicide itself is not the focus of media attention,but the responsibility and mission of the press to demonstrate through phenomena."Ta Kung Pao" presented many problems in the process of social transformation and value change through the phenomenon of suicide during the partial anti-Japanese war,arousing the world’s attention to these problems,in order to find appropriate solutions to fulfill social responsibilities.During the full-scale Anti-Japanese War,suicide reports were the media’s public opinion tool for antiJapanese war mobilization,linking personal sacrifices with national and national interests,making the social issue of suicide elevated to national justice,and inspiring the people’s determination to save the country during the Anti-Japanese War.media mission.
