| Ian McEwan’s novel Black Dogs reconstructs the longitude and latitude of history between reality and fiction and reproduces many historical wounds experienced by contemporary people.Black Dogs has distinct characteristics of New Historicism,which combines history with literary texts in the description of fragmented historical events and the construction of fictional characters in the novel.The writer uses narrative strategies such as multiple narrative perspectives and space-time construction,which not only reflects the characteristics of New Historicism,but also guides readers to re-examine the value of New Historicism under the guidance of New Historicism.The writer constructs the text through the concepts and methods of New Historicism,alerts readers to reflect on history with the educational function of the novel and the role of empathy in literature,and gives expectations for contemporary people to get out of the historical trauma.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part puts forward the basis and significance of this topic on the basis of combing the literature;the second part analyzes the construction of New Historicism in the text of Black Dogs and discusses the inseparable relationship between text and history from the interpretation of fragmented events;the third part,through the research method of narratology,reproduces the importance of history to the private domain in the attention to the traumatic intergenerational transmission chain in the family.The fourth part discusses the value expression of Black Dogs on the basis of the first three parts,and gives readers deep ethical concern in the tide of "returning to history".The fifth part summarizes the full text as the conclusion part. |
