| As one of the important figures in the history of modern philosophy,Liang Shuming had formed the life attitude of Wouldn’t let it go and unwilling to be “Bing Along ”when he was young.Facing the strong input of Western Learning,Liang Shuming reflected on the defects of Chinese culture itself and believed that the root reason was the disorders of Chinese traditional culture.The disordered Chinese culture also lost the support of some Chinese intellectuals,who began to doubt the value system of orthodox Confucianism.Therefore,although Liang Shuming Admit that he is a Buddhist,he had to temporarily shelve his own appeal and turn to the reconstruction of Confucian value system and the preservation of cultural fire.This paper takes Liang Shuming’s Confucianism and Buddhism thought as the research object,from the perspective of social history,philosophy and religious development,and tries to interpret his Confucianism and Buddhism thought through the bustophedon interweaving of his life and social development.This paper tries to solve the following problems: what is the cause of Liang Shuming’s devotion to Buddhism,through his major works,what Confucianism and Buddhism thoughts can we see contained in him,how did these Confucianism and Buddhism thoughts change in different periods of his life,and how to understand such changes? And the question of his return to his old age.In order to solve these problems,the structure of this paper is as follows:The first part,based on the brief introduction of Liang Shuming’s life and family situation,focuses on the analysis of the causes of the first period of his self-described transformation of life thoughts.During this period,his education experience endowed him with the ability to see problems from a global perspective,and his family environment endowed him with the Confucian spirit of being reluctant and brave to take responsibility,especially the analysis of the influence of his father Liang Ji on him.The achievements of his father Liang Ji influenced Liang Shuming’s understanding of the world in his early years.The way he looked at the world also caused the contradiction that he could not to combine his own world with the real world.With the intensifcation of the contradiction and the reading of The Essence of Socialism,Liang Shuming was even more dissatisfied with the society,so he initiated the idea of becoming a monk.The second part take the origin and development of Liang Shuming’s transformation from Entering Buddhism to coming out of Buddhism as the object of investigation,understanding Liang Shuming’s initial impression of Buddhism through Talking about Buddhism: A Book with Uncle zhang Rongxi,he thought that Buddhism was higher than Confucianism.We can further understand the reasons for his admission to Buddhism and the development of Buddhist thoughts through the book Inquisitive Yuan Resolving Doubts,which is a symbol of his admission to Buddhism.We can draw closer the distance between Confucianism and Buddhism step by step through Worldly Dhammas and Out of Worldly Dhammas.On this basis,we can get a glimpse of his Buddhist thought in an Introduction to Indian Philosophy.Ontology is based on anatman and Buddha nature.The epistemology is based on the three quantities of atyaks·apramān·a,Anumanapramana and non,of which the atyaks·apramān·a can be divided into two kinds: the worldly atyaks·apramān·a and the Buddha atyaks·apramān·a.However,in Liang Shuming’s opinion,only the Buddha atyaks·apramān·a can know everything and the noumenon of the universe.The worldly theory takes the origin theory as the method of analyzing the origin of the universe and the eight senses as the method of examining life,and concludes that life is only suffering.Finally,it analyzes his thoughts of returning to the world on behalf of Shakya and Confucius,and discusses his initial appearance of the reason why Confucianism is dominated by reconstruction in the next period,while Buddhism is temporarily behind.In the third part,this period belongs to the "Confucian thought period in ancient China" as described by Liang Shuming.Firstly,the book East and West Culture and Philosophy is taken as the analysis text,and the society is really cuased that Liang Shuming turned to Confucianism at this time.Personally,he still intended to be a Buddhist,but not to abandon Buddhism.Since the society made him put Buddhism to rest and pushed him to advocate Confucianism,he tried to search his efforts for the modernization transformation of Confucianism based on the two texts The Essentials of Chinese Culture and The Future of the Chinese Nation.Finally,through the analysis of the body and mind,The Human Heart and Life,bribed the value world and the real world,found the matching points of Confucianism and Buddhism in him,and solved the problem of the integration of the self-world and the real world,which could not be realized in his early days.The fourth part,taking Liang Shuming’s life of Confucianism and Buddhism as the object of investigation,through reviewing his whole life,analyzes why he has been striving to reconstruct Confucius and why he has been longing for Buddhism all his life.And on this premise,through the text of his On the Similarities and Differences between Confucianism and Buddhism,the reason why his Confucianism and Buddhism thought can be understood.Finally,through other people’s interviews with Liang Shuming in his later years and his self-narration in the book,on the basis of trying to follow his original intention,he restores the image of Mahayana Bodhisattva in and out.To sum up,this paper has done:(1)selected liang Shuming’s Confucianism and Buddhism thought perspective,and put it in the background of The Times for research,liang Shuming’s works of Confucianism and Buddhism thought negotiation and personal life track combined to show the essence of Confucianism outside and Buddhism inside;(2)Through the interpretation of Liang Shuming’s representative works,combined with the social reality at that time,a relatively comprehensive analysis and display of Mr.Liang’s thought "what has changed is the way of life","what has not changed is the adherence to the Buddhist spirit". |
