Study On The Value,Protection And Utilization Of Cultural Heritage Of Old Pawnshop In Guangzhou

Pawnbroking is a financial industry in which goods are mortgaged or pledged for loans.China’s pawnbroking industry has a long history,originating in the temples of the Southern and Northern Dynasties,with a history of more than 1600 years.During the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,pawnbroking industry flourished and pawnshops spread all over the country.Guangzhou is a representative city of China’s economic development and evolution since the Ming and Qing Dynasties.It is of great significance to carry forward the cultural heritage value of the old pawnshops in Guangzhou by studying them and putting forward protection measures.In this paper,the existing old pawn shop in guangzhou as the center,on the basis of predecessors’ research,to the point of view of cultural heritage in the old pawn shop of guangzhou investigation and study,combing the historical trace of the development of pawnbroking in guangzhou on its historical role and value,and according to the survey results on the protecting and reuse of the old pawnbroker constructive countermeasures and Suggestions are put forward.This paper first reviews the pawnbroking industry and the old pawnshop protection and utilization research status,to the research object of the definition.Secondly,it mainly introduces the historical development of pawn industry in Guangzhou in the Period of Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China when pawn industry was most prosperous.Through modern newspapers and other historical materials,it expounds the differences between various types of old pawn shops and the historical role of the old pawn shops to the country and the people of the society.The main part of this paper is through the field investigation of 21 existing old pawnshops in Guangzhou,combined with a large number of photos taken.To pawnshop management of the physical and the old pawnshop building two aspects,on the old pawnshop pawnshop writing format,pawnshop pawnshop font,business ledger books,ordinary ledger books;The style,function and internal structure of the old pawnshop building,as well as other items of the pawnshop,are studied on the value of cultural heritage.Finally,on the basis of the above,the paper expounds the historical,cultural,artistic and scientific value of the old pawnshop.According to the current situation of the old pawnshop in Guangzhou,it points out the existing problems in the protection and utilization of the old pawnshop,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
