Emotive Expression Strategies In Chinese Films About The Aged

Nowadays,the ageing of China’s population is becoming more and more serious,and the plight and spiritual needs of the elderly are in urgent need of attention from all sectors of society.As a work of art focusing on the elderly,elderly films have played an indispensable role in the Chinese film market,and their resolute figures are still circulating in cinemas,but most of them suffer from limited narrative style,boring storylines and thin characters,thus making them less mainstream today.Therefore,it is beneficial to study the emotional expression strategies of Chinese elderly films in order to explore the creative skills of these scripts and develop effective ways of expressing emotions that resonate with audiences.The study analyses a number of outstanding Chinese films about the elderly,draws on academic theories such as audience psychology and screenwriting,and analyses the script writing practices of elderly films to summarize the creative ideas of emotional expression.Firstly,we analyse the thematic connotations of survival dilemmas and spiritual choices,and explore the nature of themes and emotions.Following this,the ideas of narrative expression are dismantled,and the emotional output is explored in the light of the uniqueness of elderly films.The script is then combined with the practical creation of "The setting sun is infinitely good" to explore the channels of expression of emotions in Chinese elderly films from three perspectives: characters,character relationships and storyline.Finally,the script "The setting sun is infinitely good" is a reflection on the use of emotion in the film,and the problems that exist in Chinese films about the elderly are analyzed.It is expected to provide new ideas for the future creation of Chinese films about the elderly,so that Chinese films about the elderly can be seen by a wider audience.
