Research On The Image Of Knights In Chinese Martial Arts Film

As a unique type of Chinese film,swordsman film has gone through a hundred years of history,with several creation waves,and many distinctive style films have emerged,in which the chivalrous image also combines chivalrous behavior and the creator’s interpretation of the chivalrous spirit.As the core image of martial arts films,swordsmen not only shoulder the main line of the story,but also its construction is the embodiment of the moral aesthetics of the whole film.When swordsman texts enter the new century,countless film creators are looking for the answer of how to open up a wider living space by shaping the image of their swordsmen.Based on the discussion of the origin and definition of the image of chivalry,this paper will spend a large length to sort out the classic chivalry images in the martial arts films in the past hundred years,and conduct a historical exploration of them,namely classification and analysis.After that,I will make an overview of the sorted chivalrous images.Starting from the different shaping methods of the chivalrous images in Chinese martial arts films,I will refine and summarize the chivalrous images in Chapters one and two,and explore the reasons for their evolution in combination with the historical process.The final chapter combines the author’s script creation to explain,hoping to put forward some references and suggestions for the creation of future swordsman film texts and the construction of chivalrous images.
