| China’s seventh population census revealed that 18.70% of its elderly population had reached the stage of aging,a fact which has caused much concern in society due to the health issues they face.Research has verified that regular exercise can be beneficial for the health of the elderly.Square dance is popular among the elderly in China because of its novel form and easy to learn. However, affected by many factors, such as the epidemic and the return to hometown during the Spring Festival, many people have to interrupt the regular square dance movement. However, the impact of interrupted regular square dance on the health and fitness of the elderly is still unclear.Research purpose: Regular square dance exercise can promote the health of the elderly. However, there is no systematic study to analyze the impact of interrupting square dance exercise on the physical functions of the elderly. Therefore, this study intends to explore the impact of stop training of square dance on the health and fitness of female elderly.Research methods: The subjects were selected through questionnaire survey, and a total of 52 volunteers were recruited, including 40 people. Two groups were divided into the subjects: the experimental and the control. The control group, who performed square dance normally, had ceased their training for one month. Each group was tested before and after the experiment. The test contents include cardiopulmonary fitness(resting heart rate, blood pressure, vital capacity and 2-minute step test),body composition, muscle fitness(dumbbell 30 s bending test and 30 s sitting test),flexibility(single leg sitting forward bending test),static balance ability(single leg standing test with eyes closed),dynamic balance ability and sensitivity(8-foot walking test). Finally,Excel software was used to sort out the experimental data, and SPSS 26 software was used to statistically analyze the test data of the experimental group and the control group before and after training. The results of the study:(1)The control group normally performed square dance during the stop of training in the experimental group. After one month, all test indexes did not change significantly(P>0.05).(2)After stopping training for one month in the experimental group, compared with before stopping training, the subjects’ cardiopulmonary fitness(resting heart rate,P<0.01;vital capacity,P<0.05;two-minute step test,P<0.05),lower limb muscle fitness(30s sitting test,P<0.01),flexibility(single-leg sitting forward bending test,P<0.05)The static balance ability(eye closed single leg standing test,P<0.05)and dynamic balance ability and sensitivity(8 feet up and around test,P<0.05)were significantly decreased;Body composition and upper limb muscle fitness did not change significantly.(3)After stopping training for one month, compared with the control group, the subjects in the experimental group had cardiopulmonary fitness(resting heart rate,P<0.05;vital capacity,P<0.05;two-minute step test,P<0.05),lower limb muscle fitness(30s sitting test,P<0.05),flexibility(single-leg sitting forward bending test,P<0.05)The static balance ability(eye closed single leg standing test,P<0.05)and dynamic balance ability and sensitivity(8 feet up and around test,P<0.05)were significantly decreased;Body composition and upper limb muscle fitness did not change significantly.Research conclusion: The elderly women’s heart and lung fitness, lower limb muscle fitness, flexibility, dynamic and static balance, and sensitivity will all be significantly decreased by the one-month stop training of square dance, yet their body composition(body fat rate)and upper limb muscle fitness will not be significantly impacted. |
