A Study Of The Verbal Discourse Markers "Have To Say" In Modern Chinese Language

As an important category of Chinese discourse markers,verbal discourse markers are not only used frequently but also widely in verbal communication.At present,the academic circle has made some achievements in the study of verbal discourse markers in Chinese language,but it pays little attention to the frequently used verbal discourse marker"have to say(不得不说)"and there are few related studies.There is a large space for the study of"have to say(不得不说)".Therefore,this paper takes the verbal discourse marker"have to say(不得不说)"as the research object,and describes and explains it in detail based on a large number of discourse facts.This article is divided into six parts:The introductory section briefly introduces the origin of the study of the discourse marker "have to say",the value and significance of the study,the current status of the study,the research methods used and the sources cited.The first chapter analyzes the structure and semantics of"have to say(不得不说)".The internal structure of"have to say(不得不说)"should be divided into"have to"+"say","have to say(不得不说)"is biased phrase.The semantic meaning of"have to say(不得不说)"is equivalent to the meaning of"have to"+the meaning of"say".The second chapter first determines the attribute of"have to say(不得不说)"as a verbal discourse marker by analyzing whether"have to say(不得不说)"has words to say and whether it conforms to the basic characteristics of discourse markers.Secondly,the verbal discourse marker"have to say(不得不说)"are classified from the perspective of form and function.Finally,the frequency of using"have to say(不得不说)"as a verbal discourse marker is analyzed and counted through multiple corpora.The third chapter examines"have to say(不得不说)"from two perspectives:ephemeral and diachronic,and analyzes the evolutionary path of the discursive marker"have to say(不得不说)"."have to say(不得不说)"is transformed from discrete phrasal lexicology into solidified verb blocks,from verb blocks into sub-lexical blocks,and finally from sub-lexical blocks into discourse markers.The fourth chapter analyzes the formation mechanism and evolution motivation of the verbal discourse marker"have to say(不得不说)".The formation mechanism of"have to say(不得不说)"can be analyzed from the perspectives of metaphor mechanism,inference mechanism,re analysis,de categorization,implicit theory and solidification.The evolution motivation of"have to say(不得不说)"includes high-frequency use,economic principle,politeness principle,subjectivity and subjectivism.The fifth chapter analyzes the pragmatic functions of the discourse marker"have to say(不得不说)"in the context of corpus facts.The textual function of the verbal discourse marker"have to say(不得不说)"is manifested in two aspects:formal coherence and content coherence.The interpersonal function can be summarized into four aspects:reminding attention,promoting understanding,expressing frankness,and evaluating attitudes.
