| With the worsening ecological crisis gradually affecting all aspects of people’s lives, people are becoming more aware of the arrival of a huge ecological disaster. As early as the end of the last century,Mo Yan captured this social phenomenon that threatened the fate of mankind with his keen literary vision, and expressed his concern and thinking on ecological issues through novel creation, issuing anxiety about the "degradation of the species" of human beings and calling for the strength of human primitive life.At the same time, since the second half of the last century, ecological thought has gradually swept the world and become a prominent science, and many new research theories such as ecological aesthetics, ecological ethics, and ecological literature and art have emerged.Among the many research theories related to the criticism of ecological literature in China, the ecological ontology aesthetic theory proposed by Professor Zeng Fanren of Shandong University is the most systematic and authoritative.Examining the previous research materials of Mo Yan’s novels, the author finds that the academic community’s attention to Mo Yan’s novels mainly focuses on the aspects of theme imagery, narrative mode, character image and stylistic form. The ecological implications contained in Mo Yan’s novels have not attracted the attention of most scholars, and so far there are only 16 journal papers discussing Mo Yan’s novels from the perspective of ecological criticism, and no systematic academic results have been formed. Therefore, the author chooses to use Zeng Fanren’s ecological aesthetic theory to investigate the ecological implications of Mo Yan’s novels, hoping to fill the shortcomings of academia in the ecological critical research of Mo Yan’s novels, and at the same time attract the attention of academic colleagues to jointly promote the further deepening of the research of Mo Yan’s novels. This article is divided into three parts: introduction, main text(three chapters)and conclusion. The introduction is divided into two parts, the first is to sort out the research status of Mo Yan’s novel, including the narrative research, character and image research, theme research and ecocriticism research of Mo Yan’s novel, and explain the background and value of this thesis. The second is to sort out the theory of ecological aesthetics, including the background, research object, research method, aesthetic attributes and aesthetic paradigm of ecological aesthetics, and explain the theoretical basis of the research in this thesis. The third is the interpretation of the research ideas and significance of this thesis. The first chapter is to summarize the ecological aesthetic idea of "the unity of heaven and man" contained in Mo Yan’s novels, which is manifested in Mo Yan’s novels as "intersubjectivity" thinking,"suspense" thinking and homeland consciousness.First of all,"intersubjectivity" thinking is a refutation of anthropocentrism, which is specifically manifested in Mo Yan’s novel sketching an ecological picture of "poetic habitat",expressing the ideal of harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and also constructing a world diagram of "four-way game",expressing man’s awe of nature.Secondly,"suspense" thinking is a return to the essence of human beings, which is specifically manifested in Mo Yan’s novel’s publicity of people’s primitive vitality and criticism of people’s indiscriminate desires. Finally, the sense of home is a sense of home in nature, which is specifically manifested in the pursuit and return of hometown and nature in Mo Yan’s novel. The second chapter is to explain Mo Yan’s unique ecological narrative method, sensory narrative.Mo Yan’s novel exerts the life perception of human vision, hearing, taste and smell to the extreme, and uses the synesthesia technique of combining audio-visual and visual taste to achieve a strange artistic effect. On the one hand,it is similar to the multi-sensory experience advocated by participating in aesthetics, allowing readers to feel a world of Mo Yan’s novels with "color and fragrance",and on the other hand,it also stimulates the numb life perception of modern people and calls for the return of original vitality. The third chapter is to explore the reasons for the ecological meaning of Mo Yan’s novel.Mo Yan has repeatedly mentioned the influence of his hometown Gaomi on the creation of his novels,so the author introduces the concept of "ecological niche" in ecology to analyze the reasons for the ecological meaning of Mo Yan’s novels. It is mainly discussed from three aspects, one is the childhood "habitat",which discusses the natural scenery of Mo Yan’s hometown and the profound influence of Mo Yan’s mother on Mo Yan’s novel creation; The second is the "scarcity" environment, which mainly analyzes how Mo Yan’s childhood experience of hunger and loneliness contributed to the strong ecological meaning of Mo Yan’s novels; The third is the spiritual and cultural factors, including the analysis of the influence of Gaomi’s traditional culture and the era background of Mo Yan’s novel creation on Mo Yan.Finally, the concluding part is to reaffirm the academic significance and value of the research of this thesis, sublimate the research ideas of this thesis, summarize the research process and methods of this thesis and the final research results. |
