The piano suite "Impression of the South" was created in 1992.It is a piano piece written with Chinese folk tunes by Mr.Zhu Jianer,commissioned by Shanghai Bookstore Publishing House.This set of piano suite works is the reflection of Zhu Jianer’s creation of mature characteristics,the five pieces of music unified and independent,the work is exquisitely conceived,folk song restoration degree is high.The works not only embody national elements,but also combine symphonic thinking and western creative techniques.The works are of high artistic value whether they are used for piano teaching,actual performance or listening and appreciation.The first chapter of this paper mainly discusses Mr.Zhu Jianer’s creation process and the creation background of his work "Impression of the South";The second chapter analyzes the folk material used by the composer;The third chapter refines the creative techniques used by the composer;The fourth chapter is the interpretation of the piano suite "Impression of the South" and the analysis of the technical difficulties.
