| Shi Buhua(1835-1890),born in Wucheng(now Huzhou City),Zhejiang Province, was a poet and poetician in the late Qing Dynasty, one of the "seven intellectuals on Shaozi River".Representative works are "Zeyatang anthology" eight volumes,"Zeyatang poetry",including "Zeyatang poetry" six volumes and "Zeyatang poetry two volumes" 18 volumes and "Danang commission said poetry".Shi Buhua was a lifelong migration. At the age of 39,he joined the army in Northwest China with Zuo Zongtang, and later entered the shogunate of Zhang Yao for six years.During his six years in Xinjiang,Shi Buhua created a large number of poems reflecting the characteristics of the local environment, which presented different artistic styles compared with his earlier poems. In this paper,Shi Buhua’s poems in Xinjiang are taken as the research object. From the theoretical perspective of literary geography, this paper studies the geographical characteristics of his poems in the Western regions under the influence of geographical environment from the two clues of time and place.Under the difference of geographical environment, the poet’s temperament and creation mentality are affected, which has an impact on literary works. The result of this influence is reflected in the combination of geographical space construction and geographical elements in poetry. At the end of the thesis,it also combs the way, content and style of emotion expression in Shi Buhua’s poems in the Western regions. The paper consists of four parts, the introduction explains the research date, research results and research methods. The introduction part summarizes and sorts out the research results of previous scholars on Shi Buhua’s life and poems, among which the focus is on summarizing Shi Buhua’s poetry creation in Xinjiang. After a life of war and wandering from place to place,Shi Buhua finally met his friend Zhang Yao in the land of Xinjiang in his middle age, thus realizing his dream of making great achievements. The life and poetry in the Western regions constitute the most colorful part of Shi Buhua’s life. His ideal of life was partially realized in the Western Regions, and the essence of his poetry and theoretical achievements were all accomplished in Xinjiang.Xinjiang is an important part of Shi Buhua’s life, and his poetry creation in the Western regions is the most valuable part of his literary life. The first chapter of the paper presents Shi Buhua’s life experience and friends in four sections, with time and place as the clues, restoring the background of poetry creation, and trying to analyze the formation of Shi Buhua’s creation psychology in different stages of life and the influence of mutual influence with friends on his creation mentality, especially Shi Buhua’s military career in Xinjiang and the situation of friends. The second chapter takes Shi Buhua’s poems in the Western regions as the research object and tries to analyze the overall creation of Shi Buhua’s poems in the Western regions under the influence of regional environment from the perspective of literary geography. The environment affects people’s production, life and way of thinking,so the poet’s creation mentality and personal temperament are affected accordingly, and his poems are correspondingly with distinct regional characteristics. The intermediary of the influence of geographical environment on literary works is the thought and psychology of the writers, and the final result of the influence of geographical environment on literary works is the getz form of literature, that is,all kinds of literary works. Therefore, the focus of literary geography research should return to the literary works themselves. The geographical elements in literary works form different forms of literary geographical space through the creation and combination of poets. Therefore,in the study of literary works from the perspective of literary geography, the geographical space constructed in literary works should be taken as the research focus. The first part of the second chapter firstly defines the concept of poetry in the Western regions, and then uses a table to sort out Shi Buhua’s creation of poetry in the Western regions with the clue of time and place, and summarizes Shi Buhua’s poetry in quantity and quality. In the second part, according to the theory of literary geography, literature and geographical environment are in a state of mutual influence and interaction. There are three key factors for this dynamic process: geographical environment, creators and literary works. In this part, the first factor, the characteristics of the geographical environment,is briefly introduced, and then the relationship between the first two factors is theoretically expounded. This chapter is divided into three parts. The first part starts from the geographical space and analyzes the construction methods and characteristics of the literary geographical space in Shi Buhua’s Western region poems under the theory of literary geography. The second part starts from the literary landscape, through the literature under the influence of space-"literature under space" and the space built in the poetry-"space in literature" to analyze the geographical writing in his poetry. The third part is the aim and emotion of literary geography. No matter what kind of theories and methods literary geography adopts, its ultimate goal is to analyze literary works, literariness is the essence of literature.Whether it is the construction of geographical space or the writing of geographical landscape and geographical elements, its ultimate purpose is to express feelings and express ideals. Therefore, this part focuses on the emotional implication behind the geographical writing in Shi Buhua’s Western regions poems. |
