Visual Redesign Of “Slow Life” In Chengdu

In order to adapt to the vigorous development of social economy,people’s pace of work and life is accelerating.Lost in this society for too long,people start to cherish the memory of "slow life",which brings our attention back to our soul,our environment,our tradition,promotes a good balance between work and rest.However,sink into the streets and alleys of the city,how to find a way out between the release of work pressure and the relaxation of life mood? Somehow,people gradually find that the "slow alley" around us that can integrate art into life may be the answer.The visual redesign of old alleys aims to provide innovative visual design strategies to alleviate the awkward situation for its sustainable development.At the same time,it will preserve and perpetuate the "slow life" atmosphere,awaken people’s memories of old times,and bring psychological massage to people in the fast-paced era,finally maintain the equilibrium of environment and soul.In this thesis,author takes the concept of "slow life" as the breakthrough point,complies with the urban organic renewal policy,consults a large number of literature,to master the concepts of slow life,slow design,alley image and so on,to understand the research status of "slow life" alley image at home and abroad.The author makes a field study of typical "slow life" alleys in Chengdu,from the perspective of art design to paper study and analyze them,tries to establish the design theory system of street image,summarizes the core elements of street image and its design principles and methods.Taking "Xiaotong Alley" as the object of visual redesign,the author conducts a comprehensive investigation and analysis of the current situation of its image,combined with theoretical research,from the aspects of signs,pavement,facade,facilities,shops,cultural creativity and so on,explores the visual expression form with the theme of "slow life",and customized the exclusive "slow life" image for Xiaotong alley.
