This dissertation aims to analyze the difficulties that are linked to classical and contemporary audio recording techniques of traditional Chadian musical instruments: the case of the tam-tam,and to propose recording methods that would improve audio recordings.I have deciphered the evolution of traditional Chadian music recording from the classical to the new methods of recording today through surveys and polls conducted among a number of people.I analyzed the usual problems encountered during recordings, they are of the order: noisy recording space, acoustically untreated, lack of technicians and sound engineer typically trained in music recording and considered methodical solutions to solve them.I had to draw up a non-exhaustive list of traditional Chadian music instruments in order to raise collective awareness for their preservation and to demonstrate that sound recording is one of the means of preserving traditional Chadian music par excellence.I made theoretical proposals for methods of recording traditional musical instruments with microphone options as examples, and then proposed different methods of recording different types of traditional Chadian tam-tams as possible. We have practical recordings of the concerts of the musical instruments made during my practical work in the concert hall, the opera concert hall, and the symphony hall. Thanks to the Internet,I undertook a survey of Chadian people, both inside and outside,on traditional Chadian music.I did a perceptive test which allowed me to determine with precision the different types of microphones and the different methods of placing them in order to have the different sounds of the two tam-tams intended to be listened to.In the end,I made suggestions to restore the image of traditional music throughout Chad.
