On The Application And Development Of The Jiangsu Folk Song "Meng Jiang Nü" In Wang Zhixin’s Adaptation Of The Folk Vocal Piece "Meng Jiang Nv"

The "Meng Jiang Nü" is one of the most widespread and influential folk tunes in China,and it is also one of the most characteristic folk music styles and folk customs in southern Jiangsu.Wang Zhixin’s version of "Meng Jiang Nv" is based on the Jiangsu folk song "Meng Jiang Nü".In the preliminary literature review,I found that the current research on the traditional Jiangsu folk song "Meng Jiang Nü" and Wang Zhixin’s adaptation of "Meng Jiang Nv" mainly focuses on music analysis and singing treatment,but there is still a lack of research on the connection and development between the two,which provides research space for this thesis.Therefore,the author chooses to compare and contrast these two works,through the study of the musical characteristics,singing style,techniques and influence on contemporary folk vocal music of "Meng Jiang Nu",combined with my practice in singing traditional folk songs and performing Wang Zhi Xin’s version of "Meng Jiang Nv" in my master’s graduation concert.We will analyze and investigate the music,structure and singing techniques of the song,enrich the research results on the stage performance part of the work,broaden the ideas of singing and composition of folk vocal works,further enrich the research on the related topics,and also provide theories for better singing of this vocal work.The study will also provide theoretical reference for better performance of this vocal work.
