Johannes Brahms(1833-1897),as an important German composer in the 19 th century,created many influential music works.Among them,the piano solo is one of his main creative directions.In the 19 th century,the piano as a mainstream instrument had developed a very rich capacity for expression.Many composers tested the limits of piano expression,and Brahms was no exception.His early piano works,represented by the piano sonata,have embodied the very obvious symphonic characteristics.This paper will focus on his Piano Sonata No.3 in f Minor,get the key points of its symphonic creation through spectral analysis,and study its symphonic playing methods according to the needs of symphonic music effects.In the end,this paper aims to help readers obtain a comprehensive understanding of the symphonic characteristics of the whole piece and offer some necessary guidance on performing this sonata.
