| Cyberbullying among college students is becoming more serious as their Internet use increases and social activities decrease during the pandemic.Cyberbullying can lead to a range of mental health problems in individuals that can seriously affect academic performance and academic achievement. Therefore, the problem of cyberbullying among college students deserves attention. With the development of research on how to prevent and effectively deal with cyberbullying, the value of mindfulness in the prevention and treatment of cyberbullying has gradually attracted the attention of researchers. However, relatively few studies have been conducted on the underlying mechanisms by which mindfulness influences cyberbullying, and few studies have used mindfulness intervention as a primary intervention program to deal with cyberbullying. Therefore, this study aims to explore the predictive effect of mindfulness on cyberbullying and the mediating effect of loneliness and cyberbullying attitude, and investigate the practical intervention effect of mindfulness intervention in the prevention and treatment of cyberbullying among college students through questionnaire and experimental methods. This study is divided into two parts: Study 1,1094 freshmen to seniors from 4universities in Hubei and Guangxi were surveyed by the Mindful Attention Awareness scale,Interpersonal Mindfulness scale,UCLA Loneliness Scale,Cyberbullying attitude scale, and Cyberbullying scale. In study 2,113 college students were randomly selected from two sophomore classes of a sports university in Wuhan. After eliminating the data of the lost personnel,76 effective data were obtained, with an effective rate of 67.30%.The mixed experimental design of 3(group: course punching group, course group, control group)× 3(measurement time: pre-test,post-test,tracking)was adopted in the study. The experimental group received mindfulness course intervention once a week for 8 times, each time lasting about 40 minutes, while the control group only participated in the daily school course learning.Mindful awareness, interpersonal mindfulness, loneliness, cyberbullying attitude, and cyberbullying were measured and data analyzed at three time points before the first intervention, the last intervention, and 5 weeks after the intervention to evaluate the effect of the intervention. The results show that:(1)Cyberbullying does exist among college students, with an incidence of 51.40%.(2)The frequency of cyberbullying in male students is significantly higher than that in female students, and there is no significant difference in grade distribution of cyberbullying.(2)Mindful awareness and interpersonal mindfulness were significantly negatively correlated with loneliness, cyberbullying attitude and cyberbullying, and loneliness was significantly positively correlated with cyberbullying attitude and cyberbullying.(3)Mindful awareness has a significant negative predictive effect on cyberbullying.(4)Mindful awareness can influence cyberbullying through the partial mediating effect of cyberbullying attitude and the chain mediating effect of loneliness and cyberbullying attitude;Interpersonal mindfulness can influence cyberbullying through the chain mediating effect of loneliness and cyberbullying attitude.(4)Mindfulness intervention can effectively improve the mindfulness awareness of college students, alleviate the loneliness of college students, improve the attitude of cyberbullying, and reduce cyberbullying, and the effect is sustainable.(5)Compared with the course group, the course punching group was more effective in improving the level of mindfulness awareness, alleviating loneliness, improving attitudes toward cyberbullying, and reducing cyberbullying after the intervention, and the effects were sustained. This study provides enlightenment for the prevention and treatment of cyberbullying among college students and the formulation of mindfulness intervention programs. From the perspective of loneliness and attitudes toward cyberbullying, this study explores the mechanism of mindfulness’ s influence on cyberbullying, which will be helpful for future research.Secondly, this study is a mindfulness intervention program for college students in college classes, which has a guiding effect on the development and design of mindfulness intervention programs for different roles of cyberbullying in the future. |
