Charm Of Glass

After the glass studio movement,artists began to widely use glass materials for creation,and glass materials that had long been in arts and crafts began to move toward "art",which promoted the development of glass art.This paper mainly takes the material change of contemporary sculpture as the starting point,conducts specific research on the material language of glass,analyzes the artistic expression and practical application of glass material in contemporary sculpture and the practical research of individual in the creation of glass material.These three aspects are discussed.In view of my love for glass,I can see from the collection of related books on glass materials,contemporary sculpture,etc.,to master the relevant knowledge of theories and materials,and to understand the important glass art exhibitions in China from 2000 to the present,and to study the current successful works of art.,the material language of contemporary sculpture is gradually getting rid of the use of traditional sculpture materials,and glass material has unique artistic characteristics in "today" sculpture materials,which is mainly reflected in the transformation of material properties to concepts.This paper will start from the material language of glass to analyze the material transformation of contemporary sculpture and the three basic characteristics of material language properties,plasticity and contingency in production.In the artistic expression of contemporary sculpture,it is found from the material concept awareness,its own unique creative language,the combination with other materials,the overlap in public art and the penetration of installation art,glass materials show their own unique beauty.This is the purpose of my choice of glass materials for research.In the process of dissertation research,in addition to collecting relevant documents and analyzing the works of artists,a lot of artistic practice should be done to understand the materials and the language of the materials,so as to get rid of the shackles of traditional sculpture in the creation,and start to carry out diversified creation methods.In the "today" sculpture context,the artist’s creations are more characteristic of the contemporary context,returning to the individual of each artist,returning to an independent thinking,or an independent cognition.Based on this situation,this article will demonstrate with examples of representative glass artists,such as Zhuang Xiaowei,Li Wen,Zhou Zizheng and Du Meng,and analyze the background,modeling language,creative methods and innovations of their works.Through the analysis and research of the works and the practical operation of glass technology,I have a better understanding of the production of glass materials and the language of materials.The uniqueness of materials in contemporary sculpture.At the end of the thesis,I will expound my views on glass art and the application and practice in sculpture creation.The creation takes traditional landscape painting as the carrier,and uses glass materials to express the new concept of three-dimensional ink painting to show the shape of magic landscape.Let the relationship between glass material and three-dimensional ink,as well as manual molding and casting technology all converge in a multi-faceted Chinese landscape sculpture.Through specific analysis and research on the application of glass materials in contemporary sculpture,combined with contemporary social environment,looking for new ways to show,creating glass art works with contemporary concepts is the value of this article.
