A Study Of Uyghur Translation Of Volume Ⅲ Of《Xi Jinping:The Governance Of China》 From The Perspective Of Functional Equivalence Theory

Xi Jinping: The Governance of China(Volume III)includes important speeches,talks,addresses and congratulatory messages delivered by President Xi Jinping from 2017 to2020.The contents include political,economic,cultural and international exchanges.It is another important reading to enrich the system theoretical significance after the second volume,also an important channel for people of al ethnic groups to deeply study and master Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the guiding principles of the 19 th CPC National Congress.Therefore,the objective and accurate translated text is not only conducive to the target language readers to strengthen their sense of identity to the Chinese nation,also helps the target language readers to form an accurate understanding of China’s major policies.This paper studies the Uyghur translation of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China(Volume III)issued by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee(State Council Information Office),the Literature Research Office of the CPC Central Committee and the situation of Foreign Language Publishing and Distribution in China,borrow functional equivalence theory,from the perspective of translation to explore the characteristics of the translation and value.The ful text is written in six parts,including the preface and five chapters.The preface mainly explains the purpose of this paper,and discusses the research significance of this paper from two aspects of theory and practice.On the basis of sorting out and summarizing previous literature,the research dynamics,research method and theoretical basis of this paper are explained in detail.The first chapter using function equivalence theory to analyze "four equivalence" in Xi Jinping: The Governance of China(Volume III),namely from the vocabulary,syntax,text,semantic,this four aspects to detailed analysis of the relationship between the original and the translation.We find that its characteristics in vocabulary,syntax,text,semantic and other aspects are consistent with the characteristics of functional equivalence theory,in line with the characteristics of functional equivalence theory.In the second chapter through the analysis of the meaning of the translation,we found that Uyghur translation focuses on the whole information transfer,understanding the connotation of the original text in the whole.While the translator also according to the main function from top to down to choose dimension resources,effectively realize the connotation of the original and the transmission of the original communication value,this characteristic embodied in polysemy accurate translation,key information priority transfer and translation smooth three aspects,this chapter embodies the function of equivalent theory in dimension translation and application.The third chapter analyzes the style tone and rhetorical characteristics of Xi Jinping:The Governance of China(Volume III),summarizing Xi Jinping’s language style as: the bold and unrestrained style;solemn and humorous style;the rhetoric style is simple,friendly,accessible,sincere,authentic,profound and elegant,and can continue the characteristics of the original style is better retained.These characteristics are in line with the characteristics of functional equivalence theory.The four chapter summarizes the difficulties that are easy to encounter in translation,and divides them into cultural,lexical,syntactic and other levels,and puts forward the translation strategies and translation skil s used by the translator in translating this article,which can provide reference for our future translation practice.The fifth chapter summarizes the functional equivalence theory to understand the translation process of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China(Volume III),and draws inspiration from it,and summarizes four meaningful translation experiences,namely equivalent information value,translation fidelity to the original text,efficient information transmission and language accessibility.These rich experiences and enlightenment provide guidance for the author’s translation practice in the future.
