Research On Rebuttal Discourse Markers

Taking rebuttal discourse markers as the research object,this paper adopts the research methods of combining synchronic and diachronic analysis,qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,and description and interpretation,and discusses the definition criteria and scope,form and syntax,semantics,function,formation and influencing factors of rebuttal discourse marks from a macro perspective.Rebuttal,that is,using one’s own words to negate what one thinks is incorrect.Rebuttal discourse markers are language expressions used in the course of conversation to negate a point of view,play a role in coherence and regulate verbal communication.This paper intends to define the rebuttal discourse marks from six aspects: content,syntax,semantics,function,phonetics,and style.Rebuttal discourse markers can exist either in lexical or combined form.In terms of syntax,they mainly appear at the beginning of sentences,and some discourse marks have a continuous use phenomenon,which can play a role in enhancing the strength of rebuttal;In terms of semantics,the semantic types of rebuttal discourse markers can be divided into condemnation,interruption,elicitation,anti-expectation,greeting,and have oppositional,negative,implicit negative semantic characteristics,these semantic features will play a certain guiding role in semantic understanding,in addition,the semantic types of subsequent discourses of rebuttal discourse markers can also be divided into the following three categories: aggressive,defensive,humble;In terms of function,the rebuttal discourse mark has three functions: rebuttal function,discourse organization function,and interpersonal interaction function.Its rebuttal function includes the function of negating views and the function of criticizing the essence,the function of discourse organization includes the function of connecting the discourse,the function of marking the wheel,and the function of topic marking,and the function of interpersonal interaction includes the function of greeting,position expression,and face maintenance.In addition,there are three main sources of rebuttal discourse markers: small sentence beginning component,small sentence beginning-end component,and language expression with response function,and its formation mechanism includes generalization,re-analysis,subjectivization and interactive subjectivization.Three factors: discourse context,situational context,and personal language habits affect the use of rebuttal discourse marks.
