This article selects the speeches of the spokespersons of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China as the corpus, and uses the three-dimensional analytical framework of Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis theory to describe, explain, and explain Chinese diplomatic discourse from multiple perspectives from three dimensions: text, discourse practice, and social practice. To explore:(1)How does China’s diplomatic discourse highlight its language characteristics through vocabulary, sentence structure, and discourse cohesion?(2)How does China’s diplomatic discourse reconstruct discourse through intertextuality?(3)The historical and cultural context in which Chinese diplomatic discourse emerged and what kind of national image was constructed? In the text analysis, this paper systematically describes the linguistic features of Chinese diplomatic discourse from three levels: vocabulary, grammar, and discourse, and explores the expressive effects and construction strategies of discourse at different levels. The study found that Chinese diplomatic discourse demonstrates the true image of China through the use of various discourse strategies such as vocabulary selection, lexical collocation, specific sentence types, and cohesive methods, and has responded to the defamation of individual countries.Secondly,in the dimension of discourse practice,it mainly examines the intertextuality of Chinese diplomatic discourse. There are mainly overt intertextuality, such as the intertextuality of quotations, idioms, catchwords, and classics; In implicit intertextuality, there is mainly a mixture of genre and register. In genre,Chinese diplomatic discourse uses a mixture of narrative, descriptive, advisory, explanatory, and directive forms; In terms of register, the mixing of tenor is reflected in the change of subject position, from the questioner to the questioner, and the mixing of language patterns is reflected in the mixing of written language and spoken language, pictures, videos, and other forms.Again, from the perspective of social practice,it is found that Chinese diplomatic discourse reflects and constructs certain ideological significance, values, and national image. Finally, through the analysis of individual cases of Chinese diplomatic discourse, the overall characteristics are obtained. The language style is mainly reflected in three aspects: displaying the theme of the text through the repeated occurrence of high-frequency words, using a large number of neutral words, supplemented by derogatory words, and using sentence types and sentence patterns comprehensively; The cohesion of a text combines lexical, grammatical, and logical cohesion, with a textual structure of "total sub total";The main manifestations of intertextuality are the use of quotations and intertextuality multiple times to increase credibility, the use of idioms and classics to enhance the effectiveness of expression, and the use of stylistic intertextuality to enhance persuasiveness; In this series of interactions between social practice and discourse practice,China’s stance against discourse hegemony and the maintenance of objective justice has been expressed.
