Since 2000,Jacques Ranciere has added the new content of film to an important series of his works. Not only that,a large number of previous papers on film have shown that film has become an important part of his aesthetic thoughts. In a subject project linking aesthetic issues with politics,he put forward an aesthetic reading mode to expand the perspective of movies through careful reading of movies and film theorists. On the basis of discussing the source and background of the topic, the introduction summarizes and evaluates the current research situation, and expounds the objectives and methods of this research. The first part discusses the historical coordinates of Jacques Ranciere’s film political aesthetics, and links Jacques Ranciere’s works with those of his former mentor and the pioneer of film theory in 1970s,with those of his interlocutor gilles deleuze and the pioneer of film theory andre bazan,so as to seek the limitation and breakthrough of Ranciere’s film research in contemporary coordinates. The second part studies the main components of Jacques Ranciere’s film political aesthetics, and takes several key words such as "Phrase-Image","the liberated spectator" and "a fable of film/la fable cine mat ographique" as the breakthrough to understand Jacques Ranciere’s film aesthetics. The third part discusses the transcendence of Ranciere’s film political aesthetics. He is more concerned with the political aesthetic dialectics between visible and talkable, visible and talkable. His film political aesthetic thought shows transcendence in three aspects, one is to combine film with politics, the other is to discuss the principle of "non-drama" in film, and the third is to develop the view of "making movies politically" and have a certain influence. He wants to prove that artistic egalitarianism is similar to the disintegration of real society and political hierarchy. The fourth part summarizes the enlightenment and reflection of Jacques Ranciere’s film political aesthetics.Jacques Ranciere’s film political aesthetics is rich in connotation, full of the exploration of equality, the observation of the unknown, and the aesthetic revolution triggered by his "perceptual distribution",which responds to Marx’s thought of changing the world through aesthetics. He provided a unique perspective for examining contemporary art,and also had a positive impact on the practice and theoretical research of contemporary movies and contemporary art.
