A Study On The Creation Of Chaoshan "Left League" Writers

Chaoshan "Left League" writers numerous,creation quite abundant.Most of these writers spent their teenage years in Chaoshan.Under the influence of Chaoshan natural geographical environment and humanistic tradition,the writer’s character is "contradictory".Writers experienced oppression when they were young,and revolutionary consciousness began to sprout.After the "May Fourth" New Culture Movement,under the guidance of revolutionaries,their own foreign exile experience and the influence of foreign literary works,the revolutionary understanding was further deepened.In the 1920 s and 1930 s,Chaoshan writers of the "Left League" arrived in Shanghai and joined the "Left League" one after another.They constantly improved their creative ability by making friends with Yu Dafu,Lu Xun,Guo Moruo and other predecessors in the literary circle,and finally formed a unique group of writers on the geographical basis.In the aspect of writing Chaoshan,writers focus on the countryside,and write Chaoshan in the perspective of "Chaoshan in the sea" and "Chaoshan overseas",which not only describes the local customs of Chaoshan,but also presents the physical and mental suffering of overseas Chinese and their families.Chaoshan style story theme,"internal and external look at each other" creative vision and subtle aesthetic style are the creative characteristics of this group of writers.The writing style of Chaoshan writers is different from the "grief and anger" of Hunan left writers,the "melancholy" of Zhejiang left writers,the "lethality" of Sichuan left writers and the "chivalric" of Northeast left writers,which are specifically manifested as "melancholy".These writers’ writings on Chaoshan effectively broadened the territory of left-wing local literature,and expressed their concern for their hometown as "sons of Chaoshan",their responsibility as "sons of China" and their great national love as "sons of the world".In revolutionary writing,Chaozhou-Shantou "Left League" writers focused on the generative logic of different revolutionary subjects and emphasized the complexity and dynamics of revolutionary subjects.In addition,they pointed the finger at feudal exploitation,capitalist economic oppression andimperialist colonial rule by exposing the ethical oppression existing in the fields of economy,politics,marriage and war.Revolutionary writing has the characteristics of parallel class revolution and ethical revolution,attention to female subject power,Chaozhou story subject,diversified narrative style and conscious pursuit of human nature thinking.The writers’ delicate description of the characters’ psychology,their attention to the changes of the revolutionary field and their reflection on historical events have injected new qualities into the left-wing revolutionary writing.In a word,the two main lines of the creation of "Chaoshan writing" and "revolutionary writing" have realized the revolutionization of Chaoshan writing and the Chaoshan revolutionary writing.Although their works still have some deficiencies in conceptualization,simple plots and poor language,they have created the first creative peak of Chaoshan modern literature,and have benefited the left-wing local literature and left-wing revolutionary literature in China.They are an indispensable part of the left-wing literary circle.
