Li Xianyong, born in an unknown year, presumably died in 912-923,talented.Born in Yuanzhou,Longxi County,he was the ancestor of the Li family in Xuancheng.Li Xianyong was famous for his work Pi Sha Collection. He wrote one hundred and ninety-six poems and four fragmentary sentences.Yang Wanli said that his poems make people’s hair melt and delight in the cold and boredom when they read them, and make people feel sad and in big sorrow when they laugh and chat. This paper is mainly divided into four chapters. The first chapter summarizes the research of Li Xianyong’s year of birth, family and relationship.Based on previous researchers,it discusses about the year of his birth and death.Compared with the existing studies, the native place of this paper is more detailed, and the family part is the content which the predecessors seldom involve.Meanwhile,on the basis of relevant literature,it not only arranges Li Xianyong’s Pi Sha Collection with books and versions to be detailed, identifying the origin, album and residues, but also makes the summary of the chronology and bibliography into the list of Li Xianyong’s poems(Appendix I),taking the government shed foundation as the base, referring to many books, sorting out the notes and compilation of Li Xianyong’s poems(Appendix III).Given that no one has paid much attention to the circulation of the version of Pi Sha Collection, the content of this chapter may have pioneering work, and there are other incomplete parts left for future people to study and supplement. The second chapter mainly analyzes the subject matter and content of Li Xian’s poems. In the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties, wars were everywhere. So the poet’s vigorous appearance in his early years had been exhausted in the decadent situation and displaced life.In his later years,Li Xianyong saved himself from disaster and lived in seclusion on Lushan Mountain. The ups and downs of life experience not only provide the poet with a variety of creative materials, but also precipitate rich and profound thoughts and emotions.Li Xianyong wrote profound poems, rewards poems for making great friends, and sentimental poems for the sorrow to the past.Among them, the most brilliant is the reward poems of making great friends and the poems of the contradiction feelings of the official position, the admiration for the respected people, the encouragement to the peers, and the other sincere and moving emotions, which makes people have a sense of sorrow from the bottom of the heart. As a Confucian scholar,Xianyong’s The strong psychology of accession and the psychology of retiring are mixed with each other. His conflicts appear in various forms in sentimental reasoning poems. His keen philosophy and calm introspection have the calm and solid power of Song poetry. The third chapter mainly analyzes the style characteristics and expression techniques of Xianyong’s poetry. His poems are rich and complex, which mainly presents two styles of novel and elegant, some poems see warns in delicate, see detached in leisure, with the characteristics of halal style and novel techniques, and some poems can see vast in the simplicity and elegant in discipline. In terms of expression,Li Xianyong is good at refining words, especially at verbs, adjectives and numbers. And he is good at discussion, with strong rationality and philosophy, making good use of overlapping words in a fresh and elegant style. The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the later acceptance of Li Xianyong’s poems. After the Five Dynasties, the trend of "Zong Tang Dynasty" prevailed. In such an atmosphere, the small and medium-sized poets of the Tang Dynasty were gradually paid attention to,and Li Xianyong’s poems also had the opportunity to be paid attention to and be loved. However, his poems were "without a complete sentence",it intended to consider more about the words and sentences, ignoring the integrity of the poem,so except for the acceptance of the poetry collection, the later generations often accept its single sentences and opposite sentences, among which the application of acceptance was especially focused on.Application acceptance includes selection and quotation in the form of collection. The acceptance of the later collections of his poems was unbalanced, which began in the Song Dynasty, followed by the decline of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, and flourished in the Qing Dynasty. The famous sayings in the poems were often used. The application of citation is mainly seen in poetry and dictionary works. Therefore, the study of Li Xianyong and his poems can not only see the style of the poems of the late Tang Dynasty, but also feel the inheritance and evolution of the Tang and Song dynasties, experiencing the strong and long vitality of our traditional poetry.
