aiping Guang Ji,which was written in the early Song Dynasty,contains five volumes of "painting",and contains many stories related to portraits in the Han and Tang Dynasties,which has a profound influence on the literary creation of later generations.The common themes of calling pictures,leaving souls,portrait and prophecy in the drama literature of Ming and Qing dynasties,as well as the common themes of prophecy,Buddhism and Taoism to avoid disaster,mismatching and love,and the theme of karma in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties,all have their origins in the stories about portraits contained in Taiping Guang Ji.The academic circle has already paid attention to this,and the results focus on the research of one type of stories,such as the picturesque person and the finishing touch.This paper comprehensively collates the portrait-related stories in Taiping Guang Ji,and takes them as the research object to carry out research on the background,story type,plot mode,story connotation and artistic characteristics of the portrait-related stories,so as to outline the overall appearance and development of the portrait-related stories before the Song Dynasty in a systematic and comprehensive way.The thesis consists of the following six parts:The introduction part defines the story of painting and image and summarizes the existing research situation in the academic circle.Most of the research on the story involved in painting starts from the motif and focuses on the category of "human in painting",from which all kinds of detailed research on the branch motif are derived,and less attention is paid to the story involved in painting other than "human in painting".In the Ming and Qing dynasties,there are few studies on the stories related to portraits before the Song Dynasty.The first chapter mainly explores the causes of the story related to the portrait.The story related to the portrait in Taiping Guang Ji inherits the wind of the two Han Dynasties,carries the thoughts of Wei and Jin Dynasties in the middle,and enlighten the literary creation of opera and drama in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The story of painting and praise in the early days developed from a single form to a variety of themes,which were influenced by many factors,including: The inheritance and development of traditional painting,the influence of primitive thinking and primitive religious consciousness,the influence of Buddhism and Taoism and the social fashion of the writing period and so on.The second chapter mainly studies the subject types of the portrait-related stories in Taiping Guangji.By combing through the literature,242 portrait-related stories(including 134picture-related stories and 108 image-related stories)are sorted out,which can be summarized into five types: prophetic stories,healing and avoiding disasters stories,realistic painting techniques stories,love and marriage stories in paintings and karma stories.And delimit in detail.The third chapter mainly analyzes the plot mode of the story involving the portrait.By decomposing the story structure,separating the story turns,splitting the story sequences,analyzing the core plot units,looking for abstract roles and abstract functions,and extracting the variable parts and the constant parts,four plot modes are extracted,namely,the mode of "seeking prophecy-obtaining prophecy-dissolving-fulfilling Enlightenment";"Distress-portrait sensing-escape-portrait" mode;"Encounter-call drawing-out drawing-back drawing" mode;"Make a mistake-be punished by the portrait-repent/die" mode.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the thought connotation reflected in the story of the portrait.As a special narrative tool,paintings and images often appear in the twists and turns of the story of Taiping Guang Ji.Through the contrast between dreams and reality,ghosts and gods and mortals,they promote the plot and connect the theme,reflecting the fate view,the trajectory of marriage and love view and the fashion of Buddhism and Taoism in the process of the integration and transformation of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.The fifth chapter mainly explores the function of painting and image in the narration of Taiping Guang Ji.Starting from four directions of narrative technique,character image,plot structure and atmosphere foil,the functions undertaken are divided into: setting suspense foreshadowing,highlighting character shaping,building fantasy time and space,and rendering supernatural atmosphere.
