Degree and quantity are one of the most typical characteristics of monophonic adjectives.This paper takes 509 monophonic adjectives with different meanings in the Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)as the research object,and makes a comprehensive analysis of the quantitative characteristics of monophonic adjectives from three aspects: manifestation,consolidation and change of magnitude.The first chapter explains the reason of topic selection,research status,research object,corpus source and research methods.Chapter two expounds the quantitative characteristics of adjectives and further analyzes the quantitative characteristics of monophonic adjectives.In the third chapter,correlation analysis is made on the manifestation mode and influencing factors of the quantitative value of monosyllabic adjectives.The quantification of monosyllabic adjectives is realized mainly by numeral and degree adverbs of "perfect" and "very".The tendency of sentient color,stylistic color and extension of meaning affect the explicit expression of monosyllabic adjectives.Chapter four analyzes the two methods of quantitative value solidification of monosyllabic adjectives(overlap and morpheme word formation),and focuses on the restrictive factors and quantitative characteristics of overlap and morpheme word formation.In Chapter five,the author analyzes the prominent way of the change of magnitude value,the two basic semantic types of the expression of the change of magnitude value and the quantitative characteristics of the change of magnitude of monophonic adjectives.
