The Research On The History And Discussion Of The Documentary Creation In Ma Zhidan Studio From The Perspective Of Media Memory (2004-2022)

Ma Zhidan Studio was the first studio in Guangdong Radio and Television Station to produce documentary,and it was also the first studio in the field of Chinese documentary named after a person.Since established in 2004,Ma Zhidan Studio had been striding forward along the road of realism creation,focused on realistic documentary,devoted to innovations in documentary images.Under different times,Ma Zhidan Studio had recorded the story of the struggling people in their ordinary post,reflected the big changes in times.What’s more,Ma Zhidan Studio had produced nearly 700 documentaries with outstanding advantages in policy support,documentary industry development and external assessment.However,there are less researchers to pay more attention to the documentaries produced by Ma Zhidan Studio,and there are lack of the systematic collection.Therefore,this research,which is based on the history and discussion of the documentary creation in Ma Zhidan Studio,has its own innovativeness.As a carrier presented by images,the documentary was one of the media methods to preserve and transmit memory more stably and reliably.This research is based on the methods of case analysis,field investigation and in-depth interview,to discuss that Ma Zhidan Studio is how to use the documentary as a media to construct individual memory from the perspective of ordinary people,to awake the collective memory by recording the progress of the development of the times,and to remodel cultural memory by means of images,to construct the media memory.Through this research,there will be hopeful to provide more enlightenment for other local television stations,and jointly contributed to the promotion of the high-quality development of the new era of the documentary.This research mainly consists of three parts: Introduction,Body,and Conclusion.The Introduction Part mainly elaborates on the research origin,research purpose and significance,research status,research basis and interpretation of main concepts,research ideas and methods.The Body Part is divided into five parts,analyzing and researching from two aspects:the history and discussion of the documentary creation in Ma Zhidan Studio from the perspective of media memory.The first chapter is about the history of the documentary creation in Ma Zhidan Studio,which summarizes the development from a macro perspective,divided into three stages:Starting and Exploring,Maturing and Developing,and Leading and Prospering,to analyze and research the content and characteristics of its documentaries’ creation in each stage,and to establish a documentary case base.The second,third,fourth,and fifth chapters are to discuss the documentary creation in Ma Zhidan Studio.Chapter 2 starts from people-centered cultural creation,to analyze that the documentary produced by Ma Zhidan Studio is how to construct individual memory from the perspective of ordinary people,and discuss from the perspective of the identity selection of ordinary people,the presentation of their hard struggle,and the multidimensional narrative.Chapter 3 discusses the documentary produced by Ma Zhidan Studio is how to use the documentary as a media to awake the collective memory by using a microcosmic angle of grand themes,and the image care of public issues.Chapter 4 discusses the documentary produced by Ma Zhidan Studio is how to use the documentary as a media to remodel cultural memory by condensing the multi-level image for people,the multi-dimensional image of town and country,the diversified image of struggling individuals,to manifest the native land emotion,to strengthen social responsibility awareness,and to interpret the spirit of self-improvement.Chapter 5 carries out an in-depth interview with Ma Zhidan,the chief director of Ma Zhidan Studio,through offline field research,and discusses the enlightenment of the studio in documentary creation since its establishment,as well as the current difficulties faced and future development,giving other local television stations certain enlightenment in documentary creation from the two aspects of "creative enlightenment" and "future development".Finally,in the conclusion section,this research responds to the issues discovered during the research process,hoping to provide certain reference significance for the future development of Ma Zhidan Studio to produce documentaries.
