This thesis is a report on the Chinese translation of Chapter 6 of The Content,Impact, and Regulation of Streaming Video The Next Generation of Media Emerges.Focusing on the theme of streaming video, the book requires its translation to be both informative and readable.Based on the translation made by Google Translate, this thesis first introduces the original text, then discusses machine translation and postediting, and finally analyses the translation practice at the lexical, syntactic, and textual levels using abundant examples from the excerpt translated.By comparing the translation by Google Translate and the post-edited translation, the thesis discusses the common types of improper translation in the Google-translated version and summarizes the corresponding post-editing strategies on this basis. It is hoped that this thesis can be of some help to a better understanding of postediting strategies and methods, offer some guidance to machine translation in general, and provide the translator with some reference.
