| Printmaking is an ancient technique that has evolved over time.It has developed in different countries and times.Each culture has had its impact on its development,as well as printmaking has stimulated the development of culture in each country.The thesis conception,based on the exploration,is to affirm that printmaking is still an important and valuable technique,indeed in resemblant with today’s digital world.In the center of the project is emphasized the experimental printmaking.After exploring printmaking and digital print related materials with background information,different techniques and grounded on my particular practice,I came up with an idea and question “How is the printmaking today and why is it still valuable?”.Subject to examination and approval on a case-by-case basis is the current use and alteration of the printing,as well as its reasonable meaning and evidence substantiation of currently actuality and wide use as a form of art.Following the analysis of some case studies,it can be said that currently printmaking is a modern and experimental form of art.This work starts with a reflection of ancient times when printmaking was simply a necessary and accessible technique.Printmaking came from ancient times and was transformed to our days,and the purpose of this work is not only to study the entire path of that past transformation,but also to justify its use and application to this day,indicating their suitable and favorable conditions,so that printmaking continues its activity and develops along with today’s digital world.The goal of the work is to prove that printmaking is still relevant and valuable nowadays.This work is showing the development and change of the whole transformational process of printmaking: from technique to art.Thus,the purpose of the thesis pursues several different points.They are: the revaluation of the printmaking and the confirmation of its contemporary use,the demonstration of transformation over the centuries,including significant artists of different eras and techniques,the experimental and multi-genre nature of the printmaking,the aspects and arguments for the contemporaneous actuality with the digital print,pointing out the grounds of their veritably different productions.And eventually,which is the most important,is to confirm that the printmaking we know today is not just a technique,but exists as an independent and individually important form of art. |
