Narrative of individual’s memory is not only based on a person’ life experience,but also affected by structural factors such as the narrative framework of the community,and triggered by the director’s inquiry.This research based on th Panyu God Building,exploring the mutual construction process of collective memory and individual memory,with the impact of the production of the director.As a result,this research points out the multidimensional nature of memory in epistemology,and provides theoretical guidance as well as practical experience for the dynamic presentation of memory in documentary shooting.This study can be mainly divided into four parts.In the first part,it points out that there is a problem of essentialism in the memory of most documentaries at present,that is,the interaction between collective memory and individual memory is ignored,and the triggered dimension of memory narrative is hidden;in the second part,the multi-dimensional memory about the God Building in Shilou Village is described,including three dimensions: collective memory,individual life course and memory presentation under the intervention of the photographer;in the third part,combined with the graduation work "Building the God Building",it analyzes how the documentary should present the construction process of multi-dimensional memory from the perspective of initiative and passivity;in the fourth part,taking "Building the God Building" as an example,this paper analyzes the significance of multi-dimensional memory in documentaries for documentaries,audiences and the God Building itself.Memory is a process of continuous transformation.People interpret the same thing from different starting points and perspectives,and the memories they get are also different.Because of its non-fiction principle,documentary has a natural advantage in recording memory.Documentary can show vague and polysemous traces with images,and express multi-dimensional facts through the process of different individuals’ memories.The construction of memory is a multi-dimensional dynamic process.Through the research and practice of multi-dimensional presentation of memory,this study tries to grasp the Panyu God Building from a macro perspective,and at the same time observe and interview the God Building and the change psychology of the same ethnic group after the memory change from a micro perspective,so as to sort out the social factors that affect the memory change of the God Building,and present its role in individual memory.
