Analysis Of The Creative Characteristics And Performing Techniques Of John Williams’s Tuba Concerto

The tuba is a bass brass instrument in the Western musical instrument family.It has a deep and deep timbre and a broad and mellow sound.It is an important part of the performance forms of wind orchestra,orchestra and brass ensemble.It appeared as early as the 16 th and 17 th centuries,as Serpent and Ophicleide,precursors of the tuba.However,the tuba in the early stage mainly existed in the band as accompaniment and harmony because of its acoustic characteristics.Later,with the progress of society and the development of modern wind music,tuba has a wider range,richer acoustics and more exquisite playing skills.So that the solo function of the tuba,performance function gradually perfect.This article will focus on a unique large modern solo work.The paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly describes the research purpose,research status at home and abroad,research methods and problems to be solved.The second part is mainly about the composer’s life and "Tuba Concerto" overview of the works;The third part is about the creation style of the works,including the unique composing techniques and the ingenious use of the band accompaniment,so as to achieve a deep understanding of the connotation of the works;The fourth part is to study the tuba playing skills of the works,and put forward the corresponding practice methods,so as to improve the performance of the works.
