With the implementation of English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools in 2017,the reform of college entrance examination follows.Although the curriculum reform of high school emphasizes overall teaching in a unit and closely combines daily teaching with college entrance examination,there are still many problems in English teaching,according to the feedback of some students and teachers,such as the wide applications of relatively traditional teaching mode of reading and dictation.Especially in writing,the problem that students do not want to write,or can not write deeply troubled a lot of people.Over time,the ability of students can not be effectively improved,which is likely to reduce their enthusiasm in writing.This English teaching based on the textbook unit is an organic integration of examination and daily teaching,and mainly adopts the method of educational action research.The whole research is divided into three stages and lasts for one semester.The research subject is students form Class 33 and Grade 34,Grade Two of Liaocheng No.1 Senior High School,Shandong Province,where the author teaches.It is found that the teaching based on the textbook unit as a whole and the examination content of college entrance examination can effectively improve students’ reading and writing level,and enhance their interest in writing and willingness to express themselves.At the same time,some effective teaching strategies are explored: 1.The classroom teaching content is an integral part.Under appropriate circumstances,input and output are carried out accordingly in every lesson.2.Design an activity creatively to continue writing the first sentence after reading,and encourage students to think about the teacher’s intention before making effective creation.3.Evaluation is carried out at any time and teachers and students will carry out self-evaluation and reflection after every unit.4.Encourage cooperative learning,complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses,and show themselves in a group.In short,through classroom observation and daily conversation,students’ questionnaire and the analysis of reading and writing scores in the early,middle and late stages,the teaching by combining reading and writing based on the textbook can stimulate students’ greater potential and interact more in class.
