Sigfrid Karg-Elert(1877.11.21-1933.4.9)was a German composer and organist of the early twentieth century. He composed 66 hymns and 20 hymn preludes and finals for the organ. The 30 caprices he composed for the flute were written between 1915 and 1918,and the Chaconne stands out as one of the most representative works.Due to the technique and technical difficulties of this work,it has become a touchstone for numerous flute players in certain national and international major flute competitions. The article consists of three main chapters.Chapter 1 provides a brief introduction to the biography of the composer Karg-Elert and the background and significance of his work "Chaconne";Chapter 2 presents an overview of the Chaconne and a comparison between Karg-Elert’s Chaconne and other Chaconne pieces;Chapter 3 analyses the technical difficulties and the musical treatment of Chaconne through the author’s own practice and research, and proposes solutions and methods of practice.Through her own practice and research, the author hopes to provide flute players who are practicing Chaconne with some suggestions and assistance in their musical understanding and technical aspects of the work,so as to gain a more in-depth understanding of flute playing techniques.
