On Chen Jiming's Novel Creatio

Chen Jiming is a writer who crosses geographical boundaries.In his early years,he lived and worked in Ningxia and was transferred to Zhuhai,Guangdong in 2007.The migration of geographic space and the passage of time change Chen Jiming’s creation.However,the current research on Chen Jiming has either studied him as a member of the Northwest Writers’ Group or placed him in the group of "New Southern Writers",but has not studied him as a whole over a long period of time.Therefore,this paper attempts to explore Chen Jiming’s novels in depth in terms of their subject matter,ideological connotations,and artistic pursuits from the perspective of seeming Chen Jiming’s creative work as a whole,and taking survival question as starting point.In terms of subject matter,Chen Jiming’s urban and rural writing and love writing existed during the Ningxia period.The themes he created during the Zhuhai period are a continuation of his previous works.Having grown up in the countryside,Chen Jiming was familiar with the daily life of the countryside.Later,working in the city he could also feel the alienation of the people brought by city.Combing the literary lineage of his works,Chen Jiming’s love writing is summarized into three types: unrequited love,marriage and extra-marital love.In terms of ideological connotation,his works not only continue to show the spiritual dilemma of human existence,but also more consciously highlight the awareness of death and history.Not only does he express the reverence for death but he also feels the weight of history.In his artistic pursuit,Chen continues to challenge himself on the basis of depicting complex psychological activities,consciously revealing the complex and impermanent human nature through the metaphors and absurd plots of the text,to show his own philosophical thinking and depth of thought.Currently,Chen Jiming further tells Chinese stories and spreads Chinese voices through his artistic pursuit of these three aspects.Overall,his works are more composed,more powerful,and more original.Although academic circles have paid attention to Chen Jiming’s creations for a long time,studies on his overall creations from Ningxia to Zhuhai have been less involved,especially those in the form of dissertations.Through a careful reading of the text,the dissertation hopes to get close to the expression of Chen Jiming’s fictional themes,ideological connotations and artistic pursuits,to uncover the unique cultural values of his fictional creations on this basis.
