Wang Zengqi is a classic author who spans many literary ages,he has a habit of rewriting.In the 1940 s,Wang Zengqi began to rewrite some of his novels,such as the writing continuation of Nianhongdeng and the rewriting of Revenge,Yibing.After the comeback in the new period,Wang Zengqi rewrote more old works.He began to consciously rewrite his old works in the 1940 s,turning his eyes to the old life.The 1980 s was the period in which Wang Zengqi rewrote most of his old works.During this period,his representative novels Yibing,Being Initiated into Monkhood and Friends Through Thick and Thin emerged;In the 1990 s he gave a new stylistic look to the rewriting of old works,such as The Dew,Aunt Xue,Tangmensanjie.In addition,Wang Zengqi rewrote some folk stories respectively in 1984 and 1995.From 1987 to 1991,he mainly rewrote some of the classical Chinese novels Strange Tales from A Chinese Studio and Yeyuqiudenglu.In general,Wang Zengqi’s views on the background of the rewriting of old works,folk stories and classical Chinese novels are quite different.Wang Zengqi’s rewriting of the old works involves the three periods in his writing career.The author mainly made changes in narrative techniques,plots,language expression and inner emotions.At present,the academic circle pays more attention to the rewriting of Wang Zengqi’s old works in the 1980 s,while relatively less in the 1990 s,there is few research on its development and change.The research object of this paper covers all the rewrites of old works.To discover the stylistic evolution of the form,from this we can see the evolution of stylistic consciousness,the methods of close reading and comparative studies are mainly used,starting with the internal logic of the rewriting of Wang Zengqi’s old works.Combining with the contemporary literary trend and Wang Zengqi’s discussion on art,analyzing the adjustment of the writer’s creation at the turn of the era and the thinking behind the transformation of the rewriting of old works.On the one hand,the aesthetic style of intertextuality is formed between the before and after texts,it has added new writing form and aesthetic value to contemporary literature.On the other hand,the change of Wang Zengqi’s stylistic concept presented by referring to the rewriting of the old works: His writing stance from self to the masses and his writing style from modernist stylistic experiment to “be unique in his style” not only has a unique and typical significance for his whole novel writing career,but also has a strong enlightening effect on the internal transformation and integration of the whole modern and contemporary Chinese literature.
