In modern society,work occupies nearly one third of people’s time.With the rapid development of Internet and the widespread popularity of portable mobile devices,the work of employees has broken the limitation of time and space,and there is a situation of interleaved work and life fields,which poses new challenges for employees to manage the boundary between work and family.The work-family boundary management style will affect the work-family balance of employees,and work-family balance is an important way to improve employee’ happiness.This study takes 853 employees in Guizhou Province as the research object,and adopts Segmented Preference Scale,Organization Segmented Supply Scale,Thriving at Work Scale and Work-family Balance Scale to conduct a questionnaire survey,so as to explore the relationship between the four.In the first study,structural equation model was built,we mainly discuss the effects of segmentation preference and organizational segmentation supply on work-family balance and the mediating role of thriving at work.The results show that,(1)segmentation preference and organizational segmentation supply are positive predictors of work-family balance respectively.(2)Thriving at work plays a mediating role in segmentation preference and work-family balance,(3)Thriving at work plays a mediating role in organizational segmentation supply and workfamily balance.In the second study,polynomial response surface analysis was used to investigate the effect of the consistency of segmentation preference and organizational segmentation supply on thriving at work and work-family balance.The results show that,(1)There is no significant difference between the consistency degree of segmentation preference and organizational segmentation supply on thriving at work;However,under the consistency condition,compared with low preference-low supply,high preference-high supply has a stronger positive effect on employees’ thriving at work.Under inconsistent conditions,compared with high preference-low supply,low preference-high supply has a stronger positive effect on employees’ thriving at work.(2)The higher the degree of consistency between segmentation preference and organizational segmentation supply,the lower the level of work-family balance of employees;Under the consistency condition,the positive effect of high preference-high supply on work-family balance is stronger than that of low preference-low supply.Compared with high preference-low supply,low preference-high supply has a stronger positive effect on work-family balance under inconsistent conditions.(3)Thriving at work plays a mediating role between the consistency of segmentation preference and organizational segmentation supply and work-family balance.The results suggest that organizations should pay attention to the interaction between individuals and the environment,pay attention to the working and non-working station of employees,and provide familyfriendly policies for employees.It is also suggested that individuals should adopt flexible boundary management strategies to make the synergistic effect between individuals and organizations reach the best level.
