Design Of Picture Book Of Dong Folk Story "Zhulang Niangmei"

Zhulang Niangmei "is a classic story created by the Dong people based on the deeds of a young man and woman named Zhulang and Niangmei in the Rongjiang Sanbao Dong Village.Mainly reflecting the living environment,marriage customs,religious beliefs,and folk activities of the Dong people,it has strong ethnic characteristics and high historical,cultural,and artistic value.This story is also a treasure of Dong culture and has been included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.However,with the influence of foreign cultures,the Dong ethnic folk story "Zhulang Niangmei" has gradually faded from the public’s perspective,and currently only a few Dong opera inheritors or elderly people can fully tell the story content.Therefore,using modern design techniques to present the Dong ethnic folk story "Zhulang Niang Mei" in the form of picture books can not only attract more readers to pay attention to Dong ethnic folk culture,but also promote the inheritance and development of traditional culture.The main focus of this article is on the design of the picture book of the Dong ethnic folk story "The Beauty of the Pearl Langniang".By collecting information related to the story and conducting on-site research on Dong villages in the Liping,Congjiang,and Rongjiang regions of Guizhou Province,we aim to understand the current development status and value of the story,and engage in picture book creation practice to find innovative design points.And extract elements such as living environment,daily necessities,clothing,architecture,and pattern symbols from the Dong ethnic group region as presentation materials for picture books.Then,we will carry out the concept of picture book scripts,character design,mirror drawing,color matching,and use texture illustration style to integrate Dong ethnic elements with modern picture books,endowing the Dong folk story "Pearl Lang Niang Mei" with new era connotations,and enabling more people to understand and recognize its cultural value.Research not only helps to showcase the unique charm of Dong culture,but also provides a new direction for picture book creation.
