The Creation Of Sentimental Atmosphere In Oil Painting-Creative Practice For The "Love" Series

The expression of emotion is particularly important in oil painting,and among the paintings that express emotion,those that express sadness are a very important part of it.This paper focuses on the creation of a sentimental atmosphere in oil painting,with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the meaning of sentimentality in painting,the factors that influence the artist’s personal emotions,the factors that influence the creation of a sentimental atmosphere,and the meaning and value of painting with a sentimental atmosphere.In-depth analysis of the artist’s work allows for the use of this knowledge and experience to better complete the creative practice of the ’Love’ series.The text specifically examines the factors that contribute to the artist’s personal emotions mainly including social factors,family factors and personal factors.In the course of the study,it is found that family and personal factors have a more direct and profound influence on the artist.There are five main factors that influence the creation of a sentimental atmosphere,namely colour,shape,expression,composition and space.Through the study of personal creation,it was found that colour,shape and expression have a greater influence on the creation of a sad atmosphere,while composition and space play a supporting role.As the research progresses,painting as a medium for expressing sadness can not only turn sadness into creative power and express the artist’s personal sadness,but can also make the viewer empathise with these sad emotions,which has a certain healing effect.
