The uniqueness of The Poverty of Philosophy lies in Marx’s deep criticism of Prouton’s wrong understanding and application of Hegel’s dialectic thought in The Philosophy of Poverty.Marx’s criticism of Prouton shows that, first,Prouton’s incorrect understanding and application of dialectics will inevitably fail to reach the correct conclusion, and will also produce undesirable social consequences.Secondly, the mistakes made by Proudhon are not accidental individual phenomena, but happen from time to time in daily life,so Marx’s criticism of Proudhon is of universal significance. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical value to study dialectics in The Poverty of Philosophy deeply. The Poverty of Philosophy was written against the background of the rising proletarian movement in Europe, and at the same time various socialist and communist ideas were flourishing. How to correctly use dialectics to explore a scientific theory of communism to guide the proletarian movement,is the urgent task.On the basis of critically inheriting Hegel’s dialectic thought,Marx launched an in-depth criticism of Prouton’s mistake.Through analyzing Marx’s philosophical criticism of Prouton’s thought,we are more convinced that socialism will replace capitalism. At the same time,Marx’s method of combining economics and philosophy in his criticism of Proudhon also provides us with important theoretical and methodical guidance, which enables us to understand and grasp the content of historical materialism and the development course of Marx’s thought more profoundly, and firmly believe that communism will eventually be realized. He mechanically understood the positive-inverse-compound of Hegel’s dialectics, and mechanically applied the conceptual system of Hegel’s dialectics to economics as a scaffolding.Marx,on the other hand, saw the negative power of dialectics.Proudhon set the logical starting point of dialectics as binary split;Marx pointed out that the starting point of dialectics must be a unified community of contradictions.Prouton deduces dialectics as one;Marx interprets it as the unity of opposites. On the basis of criticizing Prouton,Marx established the basic principles of materialist dialectics: first, the object activity of materialist dialectics is defined as the practice of material production;Secondly, the research content of materialist dialectics is defined as the development history of the movement of productive forces and relations of production.Third, the proletariat is determined as the subject of the realization of communist society.Marx made us understand the essence of dialectics and its application by setting Prouton’s thought as a negative textbook and criticizing and correcting it.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study dialectics in The Poverty of Philosophy deeply.Firstly, the theoretical significance lies in that,on the one hand,it makes us have a deeper understanding of some previously familiar dialectic conclusions. On the other hand,it also enables us to identify what previous understanding is wrong, and to correct.Second, the practical significance lies in that,on the one hand, the basic principles of dialectics should not be used mechanically as ready-made formulas; On the other hand,it makes us realize the role of the proletariat and the people in the historical development, and strengthens the belief in communism.
