Research On The Structure Of Chinese "X+Shi+NP" | | Posted on:2024-06-07 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J Bai | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307085985259 | Subject:Linguistics and Applied Linguistics | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The “shi” sentence is a special sentence pattern widely used in modern Chinese.At present,the relevant research is also very rich.Almost every systematic basic treatise on modern Chinese have leaved a special chapter to discuss the “shi” sentence.This paper takes a relatively typical “shi” structure mentioned in Lu Shuxiang’s Eight Hundred Words of Modern Chinese(1980)– “subject+shi+nominal structure” as the research object,which is simplified to “X+shi+NP” structure(NP does not include the “de” word phrase).In addition to the introduction,the research is mainly carried out from the semantic and pragmatic perspectives.The introduction part mainly explains four aspects.First of all,it is clear that the research object of this paper is the “X+shi+NP” structure,in which “NP” includes body words and body phrases,but does not involve the more complex situation of “de” phrase as an object.Secondly,on the basis of previous studies,this paper summarizes the current research situation of this paper from the three aspects of grammar research-syntax,semantics and pragmatics,and makes a brief comment.Thirdly,it explains the significance of this research from both theoretical and practical aspects,and summarizes the innovation of this paper on the basis of the current research situation.Finally,summarize the research methods of this paper and explain the source of the corpus.In the semantic analysis part,the “X+shi+NP” structure is studied semantically,and the combination of form and meaning is described and analyzed.According to whether the two parts before and after the word “shi” can be interchanged,whether the word “shi”can be omitted,and whether the subject in front of the word is “de” phrase,the structure of “X+shi+NP” is divided into four categories: equivalence,prominence,description and explanation.It means the equivalent “X+shi+NP” structure that the two parts before and after the word “shi” can be interchanged with the same meaning;It indicates the prominent “X+shi+NP” structure that the word “shi” can be omitted in the sentence and still become a sentence;The structure of “X+shi+NP” in the description is that,the two parts before and after the word “shi” cannot be interchanged,and the word “shi” cannot be omitted;The structure of “X+shi+NP” in the explanation is that,the subject of the structure of “X+shi+NP” is acted by the phrase of “de”.On the basis of dividing into four categories according to the form,the subject of the sentence description is divided into the object category and the person category,and the detailed semantic analysis is carried out for each sub-category after the segmentation.In the part of pragmatic analysis,the structure of “X+shi+NP” is studied pragmatically,and the pragmatic function of the structure of “X+shi+NP” is analyzed from the different expression effects of semantic categories.Equivalent of things has the function of equivalent interpretation and deepening understanding,while equivalent of people is used to refer repeatedly to the subject.The object prominence category has the function of emphasizing the part and emphasizing the same,the character highlight category has the function of belonging to the whole and emphasizing the whole,and the space prominence category has the function of focusing on the object image.The object description category directly interprets and subjectively evaluates the reference of the subject,while the character description category has the function of clear nature and subjective evaluation.The object explanation category supplements and subjectively evaluates the content of the subject,and the character explanation category has the function of defining the nature and limiting the description. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | “shi”, nominals, structure, semantics, pragmatics | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
