A Study On The Army Preparatory University Hall In The Late Qing Dynasty

With the invasion of western powers,the rulers of the Qing government and even the Chinese people realized the importance of military reform.The introduction of western military education mode promoted the development of military education in modern China.After the failure of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895,the Qing government ordered the training of soldiers,which set off a nationwide upsurge of training new troops during the New Deal in the late Qing Dynasty.At the same time,the military education of the army also developed,and gradually established a four-level education system for the army in the late Qing Dynasty.The Army Camp Officer Academy was established in Baoding,and its site has also changed.Its development laid the foundation for the later development of the Army Preparatory University Hall.After graduation,the students of the Army Preparatory University injected vitality into the new army,trained a large number of military talents and excellent military teachers,and improved the education system of the Army University in the early Republic of China.This paper takes the Army Preparatory University Hall in the late Qing Dynasty as the research object,makes use of domestic archives and documents,based on relevant research results,and further discusses the graduates of the Army Preparatory University Hall and the relationship with modern military education in China.This paper is mainly divided into the following parts.The first part is the introduction.By consulting relevant historical materials,this paper analyzes the main achievements and shortcomings of academic research at home and abroad,combs the research ideas of this paper,explores the research methods and significance of this topic,and expounds the innovations and shortcomings of this paper.The second part mainly explores the background of the establishment of the Army Preparatory University Hall from the introduction of modern western military education model,the reform of the new army in the late Qing Dynasty and the development of the Army Military Academy.The third part mainly discusses the predecessor of the Army Preparatory University,that is,the establishment of the Army Camp Officer Academy,and discusses its founding purpose,the change of school site,the source of students,education funds,school administrators and curriculum settings.The fourth part explores the management and graduates of the Army Preparatory University Hall,so as to analyze the army education system formed in the late Qing Dynasty.The fifth part,taking the Army Preparatory University Hall and modern military education in China as clues,discusses how to cultivate new military talents and military teachers and improve the education system of the Army University in the early Republic of China,and then discusses the development of modern army education in China.The sixth part is the conclusion.This paper summarizes the background and specific development process of the Army Preparatory University Hall and its relationship with military education in modern China,and draws a conclusion.
