| ‘Fu’ was the composition of millet grown in the Zhou Dynasty.The pottery ‘Fu’ is one of the popular compositions in Chu tombs.Studies on the ‘Fu’ unearthed from Chu tombs are still weak.Based on previous studies and using archaeological data,this paper discussed the composition,typology,cultural characteristics and changes of the ‘Fu’ pottery unearthed from Chu tombs by using archaeological typology,cultural factor analysis,double evidence method and statistics.It not only enriched the cultural connotation of ‘Fu’,but also played a significant role in understanding the history,culture and social changes of Chu.In recent years,with the discovery of the pottery ‘Fu’ in Chu tombs,there have been a series of new changes such as the numbers,types and distributions area of pottery ‘Fu’.Based on the published archaeological data,at least 779 pottery ‘fu’ compositions were collected from the tombs of the Chu dynasty,which is necessary to study the composition of the ‘Fu’.In this paper,the composition of the pottery ‘fu’ unearthed from Chu tombs in different periods was studied in chronological order.Combining previous research results on Chu pottery‘Fu’ has carried on the detailed typology analysis,select the collected pictures of grain is relatively clear 100 pieces of pottery ‘Fu’ using archaeological typology method,pattern classification,according to the Chu pottery ‘Fu’ ware and decorative features of the Chu pottery‘Fu’ is divided into four type 12 subtypes eight subtypes,each model divided into Ⅰ-Ⅳ type and combined with the feature of era.To reveal the evolution and development of the ‘Fu’ and establish the time evolution of the ‘Fu’.Based on this,the archaeological and cultural characteristics of the ‘Fu’ unearthed from the Chu tombs were analyzed from the perspectives of time,region and grades to explore the changes of the ‘Fu’ composition in different periods,regions and grades.According to the available data,the Chu pottery ‘Fu’ appeared in the late Spring and Autumn period,developed in the early period of the Warring States Period,reached its peak in the middle period of the Warring States Period,and began to decline and disappeared in the late period of the Warring States Period.The composition of pottery ‘Fu’ in different periods was studied based on the composition stages.Meanwhile,the number of pottery ‘Fu’ unearthed from the Chu tombs,regional characteristics and grade characteristics of composition were also discussed.The composition of the Chu pottery ‘Fu’ was widely distributed in Hubei,Henan,Hunan and Anhui provinces,but the composition was concentrated in Jingzhou.The study also showed that the pottery ‘Fu’ buried in the Chu tombs included mandarins,ministers and commoners.Based on the analysis of the archaeological and cultural characteristics of the ‘Fu’unearthed from the Chu tombs,the changes of the ‘Fu’ were summarized,and the reasons for the changes were analyzed based on archaeological data and historical facts.The composition of the ‘Fu’ was influenced by the Central Plains Culture,the development of the ‘Fu’ was promoted by the usurpation of propriety,and the rise and fall of Chu’ pottery ‘Fu’ depends on the national strength of Chu. |
