Aesthetic Study On Beiliu Bronze Drum Decoration

Beiliu bronze drum is the main type of Cantonese bronze drum,which is famous for its height.The drum surface is larger than the drum body,and the edge of the drum surface extends beyond the drum chest.The edges of a large part of Beiliu copper drums are folded down to form a "skirt edge".According to Jin Yixi’s bronze drum test,the lip folds down,"like a cornice".Therefore,some people also call this kind of down folded skirt as "hanging eaves".This kind of "hanging eaves"("skirt")is only available for Beiliu type copper drums,and other types of copper drums do not have this kind of skirt.The patterns of Beiliu type copper drums are usually cloud and thunder patterns or cloud and thunder filling lines,but there are also patterns unique to cold water percussion or Lingshan type copper drums,such as deformed feather and human patterns,deformed bird patterns,rhombus patterns,insect patterns,and sometimes mixed patterns of deformed feather and human patterns,cloud and thunder patterns,fish and birds,etc.These patterns and patterns often appear in the form of repeated or rotated images and compositions,producing a strong overall artistic effect and showing a reasonable decorative layout.The patterns and decorations on Beiliu bronze drums are familiar to ancient slang people.On the one hand,it reflects the life scenes of Li people and their unique aesthetic consciousness and romantic atmosphere.On the other hand,it also shows their confidence in overcoming nature.The ancient slang people worshipped Lei Zu,and the cloud and thunder patterns were their favorite patterns when casting bronze drums.It can be seen that the theme decoration of Beiliu type bronze drum is the reflection of the ancient slang people’s concept of worshiping Lei Zu in artistic modeling.In this paper,through the in-depth analysis of the origin,vessel type,decorative features,technology and connotation of Beiliu type copper drum,with the help of cultural relics,archaeology,history,literature,images,aesthetics and other multidisciplinary knowledge,and referring to the previous conclusions,the aesthetic of Beiliu type copper drum is studied.First of all,make a vertical comparison of Beiliu type bronze drums,that is,analyze the evolution process of Beiliu type bronze drum decoration with the development of the times;Compare the similarities and differences between its decorative patterns and other types of bronze drums.Then,according to the characteristics of Beiliu type copper drums,it makes a horizontal comparison with other types of copper drums.Sort out the comparative data of modeling in different periods.Describe a clear development context,and interpret the evolution of its decorative modeling from early to mid-term.Finally,it analyzes the composition and modeling style of the patterns on the surface,chest and waist of Beiliu type bronze drum,and makes an in-depth study on the artistic and aesthetic characteristics,thus summarizing the artistic characteristics of Beiliu type bronze drum patterns.So as to establish a more perfect development pedigree of bronze drum culture.Based on the ethnic cultural background of Beiliu type bronze drum,this paper analyzes the connotation of Beiliu type bronze drum decoration.Open a corner of the mysterious veil of southwest minority bronze drum culture;And excavate its historical and cultural value and aesthetic value.
