Guan Zhong’s Writing In The Early Qin And Han Dynasties And The Formation Of Guan Zhong’s Image In Records Of The Grand Historian

Guan Zhong occupies a relatively high position in history.He assisted Duke Huan of Qi in establishing united vassals and unifying the empire of the world.Scholars have studied Guan Zhong’s economic theories,philosophical thoughts,legal thoughts,political theories,military and diplomatic theories,etc.Some scholars have also mentioned that Guan Zhong made outstanding contributions to the maintenance and development of Chinese culture.However,the analysis of Guan Zhong’s image from the perspective of literature is mostly limited to certain classics,so there is still room for research.There are abundant writings of Guan Zhong in the pre-Qin and Han Dynasties.This paper will start with the preqin history biography prose,Guanzi,Classics of the Pre-Qin Dynasties and classics of the Early Han Dynasty.Si Maqian praised Guan Zhong as "the so-called excellent minister in the world",and also said that "Confucius despised him ",indicating that the Tai Shigong was influenced by the works of the early Qin and Han Dynasties when he wrote the image of Guan Zhong.Therefore,the discussion on the generation of Guan Zhong’s image in Records of the Grand Historian ends with the hope of exploring the law of the writing characteristics of historical figures,which is of great significance to the study of the narrative of the characters in Chinese literature.Most of the ancient books in the early Qin and Han dynasties belong to the long period of literature,which cannot be sorted out in a clear chronological order.Therefore,this paper studies Guan Zhong’s writing as a whole from the perspective of synchronicity,not only analyzes the differences in text expression,but also analyzes the macro image connotation of Guan Zhong from the four aspects of speech,action,character relationship and others’ evaluation.
