The development and innovation of any art are accompanied by the innovation of its forms of expression.The boundary of contemporary sculpture is gradually expanding and the form of expression is gradually diversified.The context of sculpture art at the intersection of digital age and machine age has changed quietly.Children’s images have existed in Chinese sculpture art since ancient times,and have been constantly evolving with the development of The Times in the contemporary era,with more diversified expansion in content and form,and constantly updated with the development of science and technology in terms of production materials and techniques.Modern social environment not only promotes the prosperity and development of sculpture art and enrichs the spiritual life of the masses,but also brings many questions and challenges to the creation of sculptors and the whole sculpture industry.After the founding of The People’s Republic of China,domestic sculptors created a large number of children’s sculptures with different styles,conveying their different emotional meanings as well as certain social values.Through understanding and learning the typical sculpture works of different periods,we can experience the unique charm of artistic creation,learn its exquisite shaping techniques and forms of expression,and learn from its application of different materials.It is of great significance to a new generation of young people who are engaged in child-themed sculpture creation.In this thesis,children’s images in contemporary Chinese sculptures are roughly sorted out to explore the development context and performance characteristics of contemporary Chinese children’s sculptures.In-depth study of the theme and connotation of typical works,materials and technology,modeling and space,color and emotion and many other forms of expression.Through the exploration,analysis and induction of the above theories and examples,the enlightenment and thinking of contemporary sculpture creation under the tide of The Times are discussed,and the experience guiding personal creation is extracted to complete personal series creation.
