The Collation And Research Of The Materials Of The Places Of Worship In Shang Dynasty

There are a lot of contents related to sacrifice in the inscriptions of Yin Ruins,and many relics of sacrifice have been found in the archaeological excavation of the Shang Dynasty site.People of the Shang Dynasty were superstitious and worshipped their ancestors very much.Sacrifice activities were of great importance at that time.To hold sacrificial activities,there must be a certain place.This article mainly took the places where people chose to hold sacrifice activities in Shang Dynasty as the research objects,and then collected and researched the materials related to those activities,including oracle bones,bronze inscriptions and the archaeological sites of sacrifice,as well as the literature handed down from ancient times.After that,we will have a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the Shang Dynasty sacrificial places,and try to explore whether or not there was preference of the sacrifices,time,the ancesters to worship in a certain place.This paper consists of the following four chapters:Chapter One,functioning as Introduction,describing the thsis background and clarifying the research object of this paper,including the determination of the concept of "sacrificial place",sorting out the research contributions made by previous scholars and clarifying some terms related to sacrificial rites.Also,the names of each sacrificial activity,research methods and research significance of this paper are explained.Chapter Two is the specific description of the sacrifical places in the oracle bone inscriptions.This paper has twenty-three places in all,including宗zong,祼guan,祊beng,bin,室shi,家jia,庭ting,宜yi,门men,朿ci,寝qin,宅zhai,官guan,宫gong,河he,亯xiang,亚ya,fu,ze,门塾menshu,单dan,旦dan,tai.This paper discussed the kinds of sacrificial methods,the sacrificial offerings used,the sacrificial time in these places.And whether the sacrificial place belongs to a god or an ancester.Chapter Three collected and studied about the Shang Dynasty bronze inscriptions and sacrificial places in archaeological sites.In the first half of this chapter,the sacrificial places in the bronze inscriptions of Shang Dynasty,such as 宗 zong,寝 qin,家 jia,室shi and 庭 ting,are taken as the research objects,and the corresponding relationship between them and the sacrificial places in oracle bone inscriptions is discussed.In the second half,archaeological sites of the Shang Dynasty,namely Yanshi Shangcheng,Zhengzhou Shangcheng,Xiaoshuangqiao Ruins,Huanbei Shangcheng City and Yin Ruins,are selected to sort out the sacrificial architectural remains and sacrificial pits in these archaeological remains,and to explore whether the buildings in these archaeological remains and the types and quantities of the sacrificial pits can correspond to the records in the oracle bone inscriptions.Finally,Chapter Four summarized those three parts: oracle bone inscriptions,inscriptions on bronze vessels and archaeological sites.This paper compares the group distribution of the sacrificial places in the oracle,the distribution of the north and south two systems,the sacrificial objects,the sacrificial methods,and the determiners before the sacrificial places Then summarizes the tendency of each sacrificial place in the group distribution and the distribution of the two systems,as well as the tendency of the Yin people in each sacrificial places to choose the sacrificial methods and the sacrificial objects.
