Protestantism was introduced to Yunnan by Western missionaries in the late 19 th century and developed rapidly in minority areas. For a long time,Protestantism has been interacting and integrating with Yunnan minority societies, forming its own development pattern, bringing positive effects to the local communities, but also bringing a series of problems affecting social stability, such as the disintegration of minority cultures into Protestant cultures, illegal religious practices affecting the management order, and social chaos caused by doomsday heresies. Therefore,Therefore,it is worth exploring how to guide Protestantism to coexist harmoniously with Yunnan’s ethnic minority society. This article focuses on the problem of Protestantism’s influence on social stability in Yunnan’s ethnic minority regions, takes N region as an example, applies Pierre Bourdieu’s Theory of Social Practice, considers Protestantism’s practice in N region as a product of the joint action of habit, capital and field, and uses the analytical framework of social practice theory to analyze the questions about Protestantism’s influence on social stability in N region, and on this basis proposes a path to guide Protestantism’s harmonious development in Yunnan’s Region N is an autonomous region of the Yi and Miao ethnic groups in northeastern Yunnan, which is historically one of the earliest areas where Protestantism took root and is still developing in this minority region, and is representative of the study of Protestantism in Yunnan’s minority regions. The author has observed the development of Protestantism in the local society through in-depth field research in the region, and found that Protestantism has played a role in the stability of the local society after its introduction into the region, and on the other hand, under the influence of old habits, lack of capital and constraints of the field,it has also produced problems that affect the security of the local culture and the order of government administration and social order.Firstly, some of the main practices follow historical habits, which lead to the influence of the old ideas of Protestant denominations on the present order of faith practices;secondly, the lack of capital in the original field of N region leads to the increase of Protestant influence in the region while some of the practices disturb the social order;thirdly, the Secondly, the lack of capital in the original field of N region has led to an increase in the influence of Protestantism in the region, while some practical activities have disrupted social order; The third factor is the complex geographical environment, the inability to protect ethnic culture in the field, and the lack of mutual trust among actors under the influence of administrative fields, which have hindered the order of the Protestant field in the N region. In order to better guide the harmonious development of Protestantism in Yunnan’s minority areas and maintain the stability of minority societies,it is necessary to start from several aspects: guiding habits, cultivating capital, and improving the field.First,we need to guide the faith subjects in the field to form habits conducive to the adaptation of Protestantism to Chinese society, consolidate their sense of identity, and deepen the practice of Sinicization of Protestantism;second,we need to strengthen the construction of minority regions themselves, increase economic and cultural investments, and cultivate corresponding capital;finally,we need to improve the field, improve the ability to control illegal religious activities, reshape the field of ethnic culture preservation, and optimize the level of religious management Finally,we should improve the field, enhance the ability to control illegal religious activities, reshape the field of ethnic culture preservation and optimize the level of religious management services.
