| Tea is one of the treasures of China.So far has been the popular drink for thousands of years history in China.Since ancient times,Chinese has been very particular about the naming of things.Therefore,the author believes that the names of tea have the motivation,and the formation of their names is the result of people’s cognition of the characteristics of tea in all aspects and the cultural attributes behind them.Firstly,this paper analyzed the phonetic and grammatical aspects of 770 tea names collected.The author believes that the morphemes in tea names are pronounced differently in literary and colloquial readings,and explores the number of syllables,the distribution of rhythm and the collocation of consonants and vowels.In terms of grammar,the author mainly discusses the word-formation and rhetorical means of tea names.From the above content,we can draw some conclusions: Chinese tea names are mostly modifier-core structures.In terms of the number of syllables,they are mainly three-syllable and four-syllable,and their rhythm is neat and catchy.Secondly,this paper uses the relevant concepts of Motivations and Cognitive Linguistics to analyze the word-formation and semantic structures of the names of tea,so as to obtain the naming rationale.At the same time,the writer uses the concept of motivation element,according to the number of motivation element in each tea name,it is divided into simple motivation element and complex rational motivation groups.In the end,on the basis of motivation analysis,this paper analyzes the generic category formed by the six basic level category concepts of tea family and the category members it contains by using the concept of category in cognitive linguistics,and briefly describes the relationship between category members.Based on the theory of metaphor and metonymy,we discussed the phenomenon of metaphor and metonymy in tea names.By using the idealized cognitive model in cognitive linguistics,this paper analyzes the propositional structure model,image schema model,metaphorical cognitive model and metonymy cognitive model in the process of naming tea,and further reveals the process and mechanism of the formation of tea name motivation. |
