Junlian red tea,which is a product of Junlian County in Yibin City,Sichuan Province,holds a national geographical indication.Known for its high aroma,rich taste,and beautiful appearance,the history of Junlian tea production spans over a thousand years,making it one of China’s three major Gongfu red teas,alongside Anhui Qihong and Yunnan Dianhong.The documentary "The Tea Girl" provides a comprehensive depiction of Wang Jing,the fourth generation inheritor of Fengming Tea Industry.It is in this new era that she embodies a spirit of inheritance and innovation,a concept that is captured within the film.Through the narrative,her strengths are brought to light,which leads to the true and complete representation of the "Sichuan Red" tea culture.This portrayal signifies a significant contribution to the revitalization of the tea industry in Junlian County,with the documentary running for a total of 30 minutes and 38 seconds.The entire creative journey of " The Tea Girl" is meticulously depicted,encompassing six distinct stages: initial planning,mid-term filming,post-production editing,and the summation and contemplation of the end result.The first part of this paper explains the background research of the topic selection,where the focus is on creating a documentary themed around "Junlian Red Tea".The aim is for the audience,through the story of the protagonist,Wang Jing,to gain a deeper understanding of Junlian Red Tea and,consequently,Sichuan tea culture.The second part introduces the plot synopsis and narrative structure of the documentary "The Tea Girl",detailing the narrative methods that were employed during the creation and shooting stages of the documentary.In the third part,the pre-production preparation process of the documentary is elaborated upon,which includes aspects such as pre-production planning,location scouting,and the determination of the narrative style and plot structure of the entire film.The fourth part discusses the shooting methods used during the mid-term shooting process,as well as the skills required for conducting in-depth interviews with characters.The fifth part explains the post-production editing process,which extends from the initial editing to the final product.This involves material classification,rough cutting,fine cutting,and the creation of voice-overs,music,and dubbing.The final part of the paper offers a reflection on the creative process,summarizing the insights gained.After over a year of creation,the creators have experienced many challenges.However,by continuously refining their willpower and overcoming these difficulties,they have managed to create a piece of work they are satisfied with.
